...is doing it on "God's authority", yet she has been married FOUR TIMES ALREADY?????? I thought divorce was frowned upon by the church, too? Thank goodness God wasn't so strict on her as she is on others. [thumbsup]

It's even better than that. She was pregnant with twins by her third husband (eventual) before her divorce from her first husband. Her second husband adopted the twins and they married, yadda yadda yadda.

She can't issue those licenses.... she's too damn busy getting married and divorced.

Maybe she's doing it as a public service? Protecting others from the evils of marriage and saving them the shame and embarrassment she's experienced in all of her adultery and divorces and whatnot.

Pretty noble if you ask me. :)

I can't figure out how she ever convinced anyone to marry her. Woof!

And the best part is that she is a DEMOCRAT. No surprise as I see it all the time, they are all over the place.

Well, this democrat thinks her *** should be thrown in jail for contempt. How about you?

I'm not sure she should be thrown in jail, but she should be removed from office. If she cannot uphold her duties she has no business holding that office.

Even if they can, it would still cost $$$$$ in litigation and tie up courts. Throw her in jail.

She's a liberal Democrat politician. Your guess is as good as mine as to where she actually attends church.

I remember reading a lot from people who dislike the religious types because they are judgemental and love yo tell people how to live their lives. In this thread a lot of those people are pretty judgemental. It is one thing to think she should be fired (i agree) or jailed (not sure if what she is doing is a crime). Why does it matter if she has been divorced or who she has kids with.

I couldn't care less who she has married, who she has divorced and who she has had kids by. But when she uses her religion as justification to discriminate against people, and the Bible, the basis of her religion, condemns the very things she has done, I can't help but point out her obvious hypocrisy. Surely, you can see this Dave? And BTW, she did commit a crime. It is called being in contempt of court, not complying with a law. The people suing her are being very courteous in requesting no jail time. It's ultimately the judge's decision.

So you hold religious people to a different standard than you do non-religious people? She may be a hypocrite but it has nothing to do with the current situation other than you and others taking delight in the personal lives of someone you disagree with. Look up hypocrisy since you want to use that word.

Btw. It is not clear if the judge is going to rule on civil contempt or criminal contempt so like i stated earlier i am not sure if she committed a crime.

You don't think contempt of court is a crime? Of course it is. The lawyers (both sides) are pushing for monetary punishments so that they can keep the billable hours going. The clerk is hoping for monetary punishments so that the money can keep rolling in for her too. It's absurd. Throw her in jail.
