Will Cox pitched the best in the scrimmages. I'm a little surprised myself, but not too shocked.
The reason he hasn't gotten as much hype as the others- Woodruff, Fitts, and Lindgren- is because he doesn't throw as hard and he wasn't drafted. I know Fitts wasn't either, but he was the pitcher of the year in Alabama as a junior and he told scouts that he was going to college.
Anyway, Cox doesn't throw quite as hard, but he has a lot of sink on his pitches and he hides the ball very well. That makes up for his velocity- and I think he is going to probably get up to the 92-93 range as he gets stronger and more polished because of his frame. Even if he doesn't, he will still be effective.
He's going to be good for us, and he will be drafted in due time.
