So tired of Nebraska football being lousy. Today is my 67th birthday. So I lived through and loved the Devaney-Osborne glory years.

I am not going to follow this team anymore. I will come back when NU gets a coach who can win. It is possible. Georgia Tech did it. Indiana did it. South Florida did it. Texas Tech did it. Yes, it will take a lot of NIL money. And a good coach.

Wake me when that happens. Rhule is not that guy. And this isn’t just post losing depression talking. This is 24 years of futility finally kicking in.

I am done. Most will say “who cares and good riddance”.
I don’t care. I am really done. It has been nice chatting over the past decades with all of you. But I have better things to do with my time.

I will miss you and am saddened that things are this pathetic with the program. One step forward, 2 steps back this season. It’s been several years of this. And now we watch a poverty program like Indiana have a meteoric rise to the top. Mid season coaching changes are needed again, it can’t wait until December to try something different at OL. The athletic director is thrilled because now they serve beer and fancy nachos in memorial stadium and now the head coach is apparently spending his time day dreaming about the possibility of going back home to coach. On field results say all that we need to know. This program isn’t serious about winning.

I don’t blame you one bit after this clunker. How can we expect the Huskers to ever beat a great team when they can’t beat lousy teams to equally talented teams?

And I can’t be convinced that Minnesota was an equally talented team. Smarter team? Yes! Harder working team? Yes!

IMO the Huskers had a lot to prove last night and fell flat on their face. Should have had a chip on their shoulders and proven they deserved to be ranked, they can prove they can win back to back road games, they can be bowl eligible by October.

We’re a Volleyball school as far as I’m concerned!

I get it completely. I’m checked out and have lost all faith in this coaching staff to prepare the players to succeed. Year 3 of Rhule was supposed to be some magical year, but for every improvement I see, there are 2 steps backs.

- 6 L’s in a row to a (once) inferior program with a fraction of our NIL? Maybe MR needs to stop pleading for more money and work with what he has been given. Maybe he needs less NIL money?
- 8 sacks?! 9?! Sometimes with only 2 defenders rushing. Doesn’t matter… the combination of a ****** OL and immobile QB (who tends to scramble into defenders) lead to a sack on roughly 15% of our snaps.
- Why is 37 still in the game on defense? He got picked on all night. Minnesota and myself cannot be the only ones to see that.
- Why can’t the safeties come up and make a stop every once in a while? Whiff city, leading to big gains by the opposition.
- Why does Holgerson usually fade away from the run game? When it’s clicking, you feed Emmitt. He’s literally the lone bright spot on offense.

Happy birthday, I’ll add we continue to supposedly out recruit most of these teams and we lay an egg , last night was a total embarrassment! I’m a glutton for punishment and continue to follow them.

Hard pill to swallow but me as well. Team is perenially avg at best. Then we get the hype train rolling and we believe they are better than average. Then they prove once again they are in fact Mich St, Minnesota, Northwestern, Iowa, and pretty much every other Mid BIG team.

I am utterly embarrassed as well. This was a complete beatdown by a team that is below average in the Big 10. I'm tired of sll of the talk. Remember hearing that this OL was going to be the best in the country? Instead they go out and get manhandled week after week. The missed blocks are a clear indication that they don't know what they are doing and that points a finger at the coaches.
I'm also willing to say Dylan Raiola was an overrated recruit. He's a three star guy with a great attitude. His lack of mobility is a massive liability. He is too into gimmicky sidearm throws and rarely steps into throws like a pro. He waits way too long to throw when there isn't someone wide open and doesn't have a feel for the pass rush. Ask yourself how you feel about having no competition at the QB spot and how you feel about potentially playing against TJ on an opposing team.
I cannot understand why our high-level recruits are not developing but some of it is likely culture. Guys feel no pressure to improve. Guys don't get pushed by their peers or coaches. As much as I don't like Warren Sapp, I remember hearing him talk about his Miami days and him telling The Rock "I'm going to take your job" the first day he arrived. He did that. One guy is an NFL HOFer. The other is an actor.
The one area of this team that did a complete 180 was special teams. That is all about coaching. Ekeler came in and installed his system, chose his punter, found guys that can be good returners, and taught the team how to execute the system. That is what coaching is all about. Ekeler spent time at a top SEC program under a top HC and I believe that helped. We need to go get a dominant OL and DL coach and not worry about feelings.
Yeah some guys will feel upset. Some will transfer. But you know what? Other guys will feel they can improve and we'll be able to bring in transfers from the programs we hire from. We can't live in fear of ripping off a bandaid.

Exactly. I'm tired of the hype. I bought into the BS that we had a top OL at the start of the season only to see it get beaten badly week after week. These guys need to shut up and be more self-aware.

I became an ole Miss fan. Nebraska football is a joke. We are all a bunch of horny guys who are married to a fat wife that doesn’t put out. She just ain’t what she used to be

Monte Kiffin's kid.

One of those bandwagoners I see.

#5 in the country right now getting 7.5 points on the road at Jawja. A team that has never played in the SEC Championship game and has never won a National Title.

Last Conference Championship was 1963. Good luck with the switch. (y)

You can win without raising money, but you can't raise money without winning (with exceptions).

It seems like 3+ wins for every $ 10M a school raises in NIL money, with underachievers like TX (4-2).

Too bad you cut off your testicles before you decided to pack it in. You should have packed it in after the MSU game and you could still sing baritone in your church choir.

Rhule will never win consistently at NU with his inability to develop/recruit/identify talent on the DL, OL and RB positions. I've been preaching this to anyone who listens.

I just turned 69, youngster. But I’m feeling the same way. (At least until the next game.)

I must say that this team gives me zero regrets about not shelling out for a premium board membership this year. The product on the field says everything I need to know.

Will you come back IF Rhule somehow figures it out?

I know you dont believe he will, I get that. But I'm curious about your answer for my scenario.

Welcome to the 67 club. Had a nice dinner in Florence tonight. Head to Naples tomorrow. I expected this loss after the PSU news broke. I was concerned before that by the late travel home and short week before having to travel north. Crappy scheduling by the B1G IMO.

I am 71 and also went through the glory years. I am writing this message from a motel in the Twin Cities where I went to the Gopher game with my daughter and son in-law who live here and are Gopher fans. It was not a pleasant experience.
Hope continues to spring eternal for me. I love the game and am already looking forward to the game next week no matter who coaches or plays. I am a Husker fan. GBR!

I'm not sure where I stand, I'll probably get sucked back into it if we beat northwestern.
but rhule should really put a sock in it about nil till he can teach some folks to block and tackle.
Happy Birthday!
Are you sure the Huskers are going to beat Northwestern? USC was in the game against ND for most of the night. UCLA found a way to beat Maryland, tonight, in the 4th quarter, so I am not so sure they are an easy out either. I watched Iowa finish off Penn State. Not sure the Huskers will beat Kirk's boys. No excuse not to win in Happy Valley, but I will not bet on it. Hey, Penny got a Happy Birthday for turning 67. I turned 70 on Thursday. Had a great day. Then on Friday I enjoyed the Husker women's win against Michigan State. It was all downhill after that

(You do not care but my Washington State friends endured their team "Coug It" in their team's 4th quarter meltdown against UVA. I felt bad for them).
