So was Petersen a smoke screen or is this a negotiating ploy?

I believe Nick Saban announced he was not going to Bama about 24 hours before getting off the plane at Tuscaloosa. I have a hard time believing that there wasn't serious interest in Petersen. I read somewhere that BSU has it in Petersen's contract that for someone to talk to him they get 1.5 million. Maybe we hadn't officially talked to him about it? </p>

Well, usually with these sorts of things that take off like this one did, where there's smoke there's fire. I'm not saying thats the case, because I don't know. But this was being talked about on numerous blogs, radio shows, etc... So, I think there was probably some truth to it, but not at the level we were hoping
