I think we have progressed to the point where it will be very difficult for a true freshman to play much which says a lot about where our program is now versus where it was. It also draws<div>a nice contrast with the Bears situation, remember last year and watch this year for them.</div>
While I love recruiting and therefore seeing "talented" Freshmen playing from day 1 I think the last few years have shown Dan to be VERY patient (Joe Morrow is an excellent example). The less Freshmen we play in the SEC the better. Think if we had RS Derek Sherrod and had him a year later ...
Quay, Richie and Will Redmond will play. Nick James will beinterestingto see if we don't stagger him a year in case Quay is a 3 and done. Help build depth injuries non withstanding.
Richie is not going to break the 2-deep- no need in wasting a season. Same with Beniquez. The only way they see the field is on special teams or last 2 minutes of a blowout.
Redmond is going to play in the Secondary. Nick James is tough to judge- lots of talent, but he is walking into a deep position- just like the Browns.
We did the right thing by not red shirting Sherrod. He would have left after 3 years when he got a first round grade. Same thing with Quay. He is only here for three so throw him out there.
