We were coming off 2 suck seasons. He wanted to play for the CWS, and there really wasn’t much expectation that we were going to be good enough. I don’t blame him.

Yeah, he was looking for that next "Skenes-Level Team" for the best chance at a CWS ring. And he may have found it......TAMU still is one of the leaders to take it all in Omaha.

We didn’t put a lot, if any effort signing him out of high school. An outfield of Montgomery, Hujsack and Jordan would have been pretty stout.
