So what's the deal with the complaints about baseball this year?

Admittedly, I've only seen them play yesterday and today but they look to be a pretty good team in a strong baseball conference. It's a fun team to watch. I only wish I could make it back to Dudy Noble once in a while. Maybe next year.

Either by Greg Byrne, Scott Stricklin, John Cohen, Rick Stansbury, or Coach34.

We played decent out of conference. Won several games, but lost a few we should've won. Played above average, not great.

First half of the SEC slate, we didn't hit the ball well at all. We went 5-10 against some pretty stiff competition. We blew a couple of games as well, as Reed proved he wasn't the Reed from last year. Played most of the time without Stark, Bradford, Bracewell, and Norris.

The second half, we played really well. Still didn't hit great, but weimproved. We got Norris and Stark back, although Stark didn't play much. We playeda much easier schedule (TN, UM, BAMA) and wnet 7-2 over that stretch. Finished 4-2 against UF and UK (two top 10 teams) to go 11-4 on the last half of the schedule. The season ending sweep of UK was great to watch, as we hit pretty good and pitched very, very good.

We have one of the best pitchign staffs in the nation, if not the best. We're very, very deep and have some decent youth there too. The future is bright.

The bitching stems from people questioning whether Cohen deserves to be on the hot-seat or not. There were quite a few who were Cohen bashing after the 5-10 start. They had no sympathy for the injuries we had dealt with and couldn't seem to understand that a schedule of @LSU, vs ARK, @AUB, vsVAN, and @USC was probably the toughest 15 game stretch in the nation. We played well enough to go 7-8 or even 8-7, but the breaks didn't come our way.

had at least 7 injuries in our lineup ...and struggled hitting.
our top guy returning was lost for the season

we do hit .253 as a team so it is frustrating, sometimes.

Add Brownlee to your list of walking wounded and you nailed it. We had no less than 7 guys either miss time with injury or try to play through something: CT, Norris, Brownlee, Henderson, Stark, Rea, and Porter. That's nearly the whole lineup, and almost every experienced returning player from last year except Frazier. I don't care who you are, that will affect your offensive output and record. We're seeing the difference now as we're starting to get some of those guys back and healthy.

Fake baseball on tv right now

Looks like he's running pretty short on criticism this week...
