Now that Alek Thomas has some experience at the QB position, I'm really excited to see what he will do. If the line can gel, with Thomas and an experienced back in Nakos, and juniors Davis and Rias, I think MC, with a ton of talent back on D, should be back to normal. John O'Conner from Ignatius is back on the MC Varsity staff on the defensive side so he's going to be a huge help with the DB's. I'm predicting 7-2.

Only thing in MC's favor vs LA is its week 3 after Rambler will have played Phillips and UCLA so maybe 3rd week they are banged up or something.

RB Bullie will be back at full strength - leg injury during '16 BR game - LA was a different offense with Bullie when he was in the lineup last year. QB Quinn Boyle is as efficient running the read option as Emmet Clifford was in 2015, and has had plenty of playing time on the varsity level. Their O-line will be massive and well coached, as always. Obviously losing baby-Gronk will hurt. Predict 8-1 or 7-2. Possible losses to Bishop A and the Caravan.

Can't pick anyone other than LA for a forecasted conference champion. Until someone can beat them in conference in the regular season anyways,...

Didn't Providence have a lot of young kids playing last year? A gaggle of them popped up on Edgys camp analysis's on the Nation side last month. Maybe they jump into the mix with BR and MC for the projected #2 ranking in the conference?

I think I went on the ledge and chose BR last year. Gotta be the Ramblers now till someone proves otherwise.

Have to go with LA, but man, that CCL over the long run has been something. The ebbs and flows of LA, PC, MC with a strong mixture of Rita, and more recently threats from Rice. You almost feel like at some point...

Sadly, gone are the glorious days of heated and fact rich DVC vs. CCL threads. Maybe this new DVC is what we need.

I dont know that this new DVC has the overall high level that the old DVC did. It is extremely balanced though. But then again my bracket was trashed when Rice lost last year. It seems like now LA is the only program that is struggle proof.

Am going with LA until proven otherwise. Got a chance to see a few of the BR boys at camps this summer. They looked outstanding and ready to go. The pressure will be off BR this year. I am sure that will be to their benefit. Regarding LA - lookout for Noah Jones, a terrific wideout. Losing their LB's will hurt but that's the position Coach Holocek coaches so I am sure they'll be fine. RB Bullie will be a 1000 yards plus runner. Reminds me of Barry Sanders in terms of the way he runs. Should be fun. 1 month away.
