i think mine was in 1985 against Tulane. It was on my birthday, and another sixpacker got me my cowbell which I still have to this day.

South Carolina game 1997. I could be wrong on that but we beat the dogshit out of whoever we played that day.

I didn't grow up a State fan, and have only known one winning season. My first game as a student was the glorious 28-0 first quarter drilling by Oregon. I was also at Maine. I figure being a State fan has probably subtracted about 10 years off my life due to constant disappointment.

Early or Late 70s, definitely in Jackson. Can't remember which one. Likely an Egg Bowl, perhaps the Forcade Bowl. Or maybe one of those LSU games when we used to ring them up on a regular basis.

I'm pretty sure I never saw State play with the MS helmet.

I went to every home game in 94, and I've only missed two games since then. I don't plan on missing many more.

on campus. But I can't remember who with, a non conference game for sure. I remember seeing us play USM, North Texas, KS State, L'ville but not sure which one was my first.

Either usm or louisville. We played K-state and the mean green in 75, pretty sure.

Not sure what the first one I was at was. First one I remember vividly was the Georgia game in 1982. I actually remember the UMiss/Arkansas game in Jackson in 1981 (my mother grew up in Arkansas and have family friends that are big Hog fans). Remember it being almost 50/50 in attendance and called the Hogs, which is cool as a 5 year old.

The best thing about the beatdown that we put on louisville that year (42-0) was who was their coach. None other than Lee Corso.

they had a flashy tailback, I think his name was Elvis Peacock, or something like that. Their defensive team is probably still looking for Walter Packer.

I do know, it was in the early 60"s in Jackson.

My Mom worked for Western Union at the time, and typed for reporters at the games...so we got escort tickets.

Dad and I saw quite a few games...State, OM and USM.

Of the state games I recall seeing LSU, Fla. Tulane, Bama, Auburn and Georgia

I think My first MSU game was in 1962....I was very young!

My first recollection of a SEC sports event...when OM played LSU, and Billy Cannon made his famous run...Dad and I were listening on the radio, I wasn't sure what was going on, but I knew it was big!</p>

My older brothers (3) were state students ( and I was a future state student) and I wanted to see our QB, Joe Reed kick TT's arse. We beat them pretty good that night.

Then on 10/25/80 I saw Alabama - 42, Southern Miss - 7. I had planned to go to the MSU-Bama game on 11/1/80, but after seeing those 2 games, I decided to stay my *** at home and avoid the pain of that ***-whipping. So I missed one of the greatest upsets in MSU history. On an even sadder note, upon returning from the Bama-USM game, I learned that one of my dad's best friends had died of a sudden brain aneurysm that day.

ETA: One of my better MSU football memories was 2 weeks after the Bama game when I saw MSU - 55, LSU - 31. John Bond had an unbelievable day that day.

that 1979 Florida team you saw us beat 24-10 finished the season 0-10-1. Their version of Tech and 10 was a tie vs. GA Tech and 10 losses.
