So who else is sick to death of hearing about the NFL's problems?

I have ceased watching Sportscenter, quit listening to sports talk radio, and turn off the volume during games because I cannot take another second of the endless discussion of non-football related issues. Sports are supposed to be an escape from reality for 17's sake.

I get reporting on stuff when it happens but this nonstop horse flogging is way over the top.

Preach it! Truth! I had to switch over to political talk radio more times than I cared to just to get away from the constant talk of whoopings/beating/spankings/etc. Not good for my blood pressure.

What is the "NFL" that you speak of? I stopped watching pro sports 10 years ago. I suggest everyone do the same. BTW for you lemmings that still watch it thanks for driving up the price of my beer to pay these low-life criminal millionaires.

It's all Goodell's fault.

He should've never put himself in position to have to manage off-field incidents.

If he doesn't do that, then he sits back, hands clean, and he lets the legal system handle everything.

That, and he leaves it all up to the teams individually.

Take the Ray Rice deal. If the NFL isn't in the discipline field, then all the heat would be on the Ravens alone. It would be up to them to decide whether to sit Rice and for how long, and if the public disagreed, the heat would all be on the Ravens. The NFL as a league wouldn't be taking the blow.

You mean the beer that you buy at the games that you don't go to?

AS I heard on the radio this morning, in referring to Rice, Peterson, and Sam, everyone better hide yo women , hide yo children, and...hide yo husbands!

Amen.
They need to turn this ship 180 degrees, and head back to the safe port of letting the American Justice System decide guilt and innocence. At this point, I'm avoiding everything NFL-related except the games themselves.

Yeah because beating a woman or a child and a consensual same-sex relationship are totally equivalent.

No i'm talking about the beer, cars, and 1800flowers we all pay more for because of the advertising they spend on this day of celebration for overpaid criminals. While you peasants sit in the "cheap" seats the corporations are driving up the cost of business in the luxury boxes and 50 yard line club seats. BTW how much is a beer now at this circus?

If you are sick of NFL, don't turn on college game day. They have been talking about Winston's now full game suspension since daylight. I expect it to be an all day thing.

Boy I sure am. I said in a post on a different thread they should make a n ESPN drama channel if you want to watch/hear 30 guys break down each scandal and condemn each person involved to hell and basically tell the organizations how they should handle their disciplining. I can't stop watching sports center so please just give me the highlights and the scores and cut out all this bull ****

I don't watch the NFL regular season any longer. I'll flip on redzone just to see what's going on then get back to something else. Stopped listening to local sports talk radio as well. All they talk about is NFL, NBA, and golf.

Yeah, it's most definitely only the NFL.

Am I sick of the media coverage? Sure. So I switched to print or found other outlets to get my kicks on sports journalism.

Let's not act like it's only sports. Ted Turner's mind blowing idea to dedicate news channels to 24/7 access ruined just about everything. It sensationalized everything. Is ISIS the biggest threat to America today? Is Winston getting on a table and screaming something, admittedly inappropriate, the worst thing that happened in college football that day? Is domestic violence or gays in the workplace only an issue that affects the NFL? No to all accounts, but they're sexy stories.

If you're going to ***** about Budweiser being more expensive because they pay the NFL a ton of money you should also turn off Bill O'Reilly because that's driving up the cost of something else you buy.

I personally love the NFL. I love college football too. They're no different, except the media has a lot more access to NFL players than college players and instead of writing puff pieces on Dak Prescott being a great person and a great role model, people will click on a link about Dwyer breaking his wife's nose with a shoe than how Drew Brees spends a ton of money developing his community in NOLA. It sucks. But let's not sit on our high horses about it. It's entirely possible to separate the sensational journalism part from the enjoyable part.
