So who here think we see Gordon back at MSU next year?

I mentioned earlier that I can't remember a 1st team All-SEC and an All-American, with a year of playing left, leave and get signed as a free agent after he didn't get drafted. I think that would be crazy. Jay Bilas said last night that after the 20th or so pick, the money drops off like crazy. If he signed with an agent and signed a free agent contract, he might get cut in workouts after 2 weeks. I know it probably won't happen, but if he came back to MSU, he would have a chance to get drafted late 1st round. This was an extremely deep draft for guards and Slovakians and it killed him.

It could be possible but his academics may prevent a return. Remember, he pretty much quit going to class after the season ended.

He can not come back to MSU to play basketball. B/C he stayed in the draft he lost his amateur status, reguardless if he signed with an agent or not.

so looks like he'll be working out with teams or headed to Europe.

As long as he didn't sign with an agent and not get drafted, he can return. But with his "agent" basically saying it was a done deal for him to represent Gordon, I imagine it will be a ***** to try to come back to college and convince the NCAA, that he didn't receive any money. On top of that you add in the fact, that he more than likely isn't academically eligible.

Maybe he could donate some of that Euro he is going to make for a roof for the practice facility.

I thought it was covered yesterday that a roofless facility was the way to go.

Last night DJ White from Indiana was drafted. ESPN had on his profile that he was 1st team ALL-SEC at Indiana.

Also, Jay Bilas said that Shan Foster didn't have any range on the 3 point shot. I guess the 9 in a row from 28 feet didn't impress him.

Randolph declared himself eligible for the 2005 NBA draft after his freshman season at Kentucky, but he did not sign with an agent. After going undrafted, he returned for his sophomore and junior seasons under Tubby Smith. Morris sat out the first 14 games of his sophomore season because of an NCAA penalty related to contact with an agent.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2809958

But the million-dollar question: What about his eligibility and any chance he could return to school? Grantham said he wanted to talk to Gordon about that first, and that he might have an answer for me in the morning.

As an enrolled student-athlete or prospective student-athlete, am I allowed to enter the draft without jeopardizing my eligibility?

I think he's probably far enough in with the agent that we'll be better off if he doesn't come back.
