...the powers at play are huge. And part of the Unabomber's manifesto was right. ESPN staying in the background on this is very odd.

Is Duke/UNC really that far fetched? They both suck at football, but let's not pretend football is driving this. Televisions and brand recognition is driving this. And while they lack the football and maybe the televisions in the fall.. their brand recognition is off the charts.

Would they consider a flip? Maybe. If they see the Big 10 about to really pound them everywhere north of the Mason-Dixon. Obviously the academics thing would be a huge hurdle, as our MBA programs ain't exactly tobacco road quality. I'm sure the backlash from their academia would be huge. Still... nerds aren't in the driver's seat here.

So.. yeah.. I can see UNC and Duke.

A&M and Oklahoma in the West... UNC and Duke in the east...

/did I really just argue from the side of UNC and Duke entering the SEC?

Move Vandy to the West

Best basketball conference in the nation
Best football conference in the nation

Irony is that the geographic footprint of the SEC now matches up with that of the Confederate States of America. Ole Miss will be happy.

so I was just thinking there might be some political pressure to remain in the ACC, like A and M had.

...not. Though that would be interesting.

Seriously though, I don't know... there are different scenarios. Virginia Tech probably makes the most sense but I think they may stay in the ACC, so I'll say South Florida because that removes the foothold the Big East has in the south.
