So who is wrong, ESPN or the SEC? Does this bite us in the ***?

With the report earlier that MSU did not report the phone calls to the SEC, where does that leave Joe Schad's story? Is he way off, or were the 'recruiters' he talked to not coaches (thus not reported by MSU)? There is the possibility that we turned in something even more damning that makes the phone calls unnecessary, but where is that evidence? If the recruiters turn out not to be coaches, we likely face NCAA penalties ourselves. Gosh, my head is spinning so many different ways right now. I hope we aren't dirty, but man, nothing about the way this seems to be spinning looks good for us (or anyone for that matter). Personally, I see the case just falling apart in the next couple of days due to lack of real evidence, and despite our University playing by the rules, we still come out smelling like ****.

Didn't we lose some coaches who would have been there during the Egg Bowl and involved with the staff during the Newton recruitment? If so then isn't it possible that none of our current coaches said anything but someone involved in "recruitment" did? I know if I were a journalist I would definitely be hunting down those people who are no longer with our program and thus have no reason to protect anything. Just a thought.
