LWE, Loyola, MS, and Marist are the top four. MS, though, is the team that always finds a way in the playoffs. Last year they had three losses but made the tweaks (as the season progressed) to put them over the top. They are better this year, so my $ is on them. LWE is probably the best , but the best team doesn't always win.
Because they should only play in the championship or it's a conspiracyneed brackets...........I am sure somehow LA will play Marist in the second or third round........

Which already happened once btw.
This is absurd. How about the year the IHSA did that weird North/South split and a 6-3 MC got a 1st Rd "away" game against Simeon at Gately? You ever hear of confirmation bias?I don't believe in a conspiracy, but I think the IHSA Board only has two private school principals and they elect the IHSA directors. As we know, the directors rule the roost and also understand the direction the public school principals, who put them in place, prefer. This is a reality and common sense. Getting the private big dogs to play each other early will happen. LA will probably play Glenbrook South or some other public in the first round then Marist. Third round will be either LWE , Homewood F, or MS. I may be wrong, but highly doubt it. Either way, its all good because LA will be happy to get in and compete. " The little engine that could. "

I do believe in conspiracy but if they play 1-32 and don't play with the brackets than so be it if the privates all play each other. It's only if they play games with the scheduling that makes people despise the IHSA.I don't believe in a conspiracy, but I think the IHSA Board only has two private school principals and they elect the IHSA directors. Does LA get an asterisk if they win 8A since they couldn't beat the 5A champ![]()

How can they play with the brackets when seeding 1-32? The formula is set before the season start. What changes have been made to brackets seeded 1-32?
Yeah right. How many times have DVC teams been pitted against each other in the playoffs? Often in multiple rounds. You think there is a DVC conspiracy too? Perhaps it is that the more teams there are from a certain conference increases the likelihood of them playing one another?I don't believe in a conspiracy, but I think the IHSA Board only has two private school principals and they elect the IHSA directors. Please don't offend anyone. Can't pull anyone's leg anymore. I was going to comment about the cake eaters comment that would be insensitive on my part.Nutritionally Sound.
Nutritionally Sound.
I've seen both teams this year & LA will beat Marist by 2 TD's no matter what round they play them. Was not overly impressed by the Redhawks. Let's not forget that our soon to be 2-7 Crusaders were tied at 14 with them in the 4th quarter at Marist before we imploded with mistakes.
While I agree that Loyola may beat Marist no matter what round, Marist is a totally different team then they were week 1 versus Crusaders. Since that Rice game Marist has outscored opponents on average score of 47-14 since that game with a 42-0 win over previously undefeated Nazareth who is a 6A contender. May not have played toughest schedule but I am telling you Red hawks are good.

How far down the list is West Aurora? They have improved greatly in the last couple years.

Best move they ever made was going to the Upstate 8. That reset button allowed them to build their program to a competitive level. That said the S Elgin game took some of that 2016 luster off.I would improve as well if I was going against Bartlett, East Aurora, etc etc. in Upstate 8 instead of Napervile North, Naperville Central, Etc etc in DVC or Neuqua and WV when they were in the Upstate - But to their credit - they scheduling some good non conference matchups to compensate.
I think they will be a middle seed around 17 to 24 depending on if they go 7-2 or 6-3.

In my mind this is a 5 team field.
LWE,MS,LA,Barrington and Marist
I didn’t know that giving an opinion on the strength of 2 teams I’ve seen play was bashing. If they meet & my prediction comes true I’ll expect your apology. For a team you don't consider a rival you seem to spend an awful lot of your posts bashing them.
