So why do the Spurs get fined but not the Heat?

The NBA hammered the Spurs for resting their stars earlier this year and now we are to believe that LeBron, Wade, and Ray Allen are all simultaneously hurt after their streak ended?

If I was Poppovich I would be pissed.

All pop had to do was say they were hurt and keep them on the bench. NBA couldn't have proved otherwise

It has nothing to do with Pop forgetting to fein injuries and everything to do with this...

Stern hates the Spurs because they are drama-free, blue collar, and they routinely knock teams out of the playoffs that have larger tv markets. Shame on them.

It has nothing to do with Stern hating the Spurs.

It has everything to do with what was previously stated. Pop sent his guys him early from a road trip for rest. If he would've sat them on the end of the bench, there wouldn't have been a fine. It's that simple.

Pretty much, but I don't think Lebron and Wadeplayed the next game after the Spurs either (Knicks?). So, it's all about plausible deniability.

How do you know that LeBron, D-Wade, and Chalmers aren't nursing these injuries?

I know these concepts are tough to understand... but since it took you about 4 extra years to see that Stansbury was running the ship aground, I guess I should come to grips that these concepts may be a little over your pay grade.

So you believe Wade, LeBron, Chalmers, and Allen were all hurt simultaneously immediately after their streak was ended and they locked up first place in the East?

PS: I will ignore your other stupid ******** in the interest of not rehashing that garbage now that your idol, Peaches, is gone

Nope. I don't believe for one second that they're all hurt simultaneously.

But that's irrelevant. Popovich sent his players home. You can't 17ing do that. To me, it's very clear as to why there's no fine levied on the Heat.

Don't get me wrong. I don't think the Heat should be fined because NBA teams have done this for years. My issue is that the Spurs got fined for resting their stars because did not bother lying about it.

It should not matter if they are resting at home or sitting on the bench in street clothes. If Spoelstra said LeBron was hurt and did not make their next road trip do you think the Heat would be fined?

If the claim is that LeBron is injured, then no... you can't fine the Heat. You have to play this game.... and Pop didn't.

Agreed. That is very clear, NOW. Was there a distinction several weeks ago, though, between sending folks home and simply lying about an injury? I don't think so but could be wrong.

Huh? It was very clear BEFORE the game with the Heat that Pop sent his guys home to rest them. It was never even in question at the time.
