I think the exception only works if you're transferring down. Of course the bigger problem is this kid was only mediocre at best in the SWAC. He was kicked off the team after he threatened to quit after being demoted to 2nd string QB. Do we really need a guy who couldn't even keep his job with a bad SWAC team?

Even if he doesn't go pro now, he certainly will in 3 years. So you can't redshirt him and you know you're going to lose him after his junior season. Unless you think he's going to come in and get signficant playing time immediately and start by his sophomore season, you'd be better off using that scholarship for a slightly lower ranked player who would be there for 5 years.

after learning we had Autry, they will go in complete DefCon 4 if we get Jacobs too. Dooley will have to walk around with a body guard

the new coach brought in a pro style offense that Brandon was not suited for. And the coach brought in his QB too. So he did well against teams that had worse D lines than their O line in the spread. With our beefed up o line I imagine he could be bottled gold back there. He outran our entine defense last year in his 80 yd td run</p>
