You take away that Texas Tech loss and I would be willing to say well it's not looking terrible. That was coming off a bye. Coaching cost us against Texas. Letting 0 on Texas defense come untouched because your guards are doubling, scheme. Not having another rb behind Brown, coaching. Doege should have been picked off but Esdale bailed him out otherwise it's probably worse. I actually don't mind going for it but in the 4th but Doege has proven inaccurate outside the pocket, let's roll him out. Coaching. The last 4th down you have numbers and you throw, coaching. I get what he's trying to do. The problem is when you have more talent than everyone in your league like he did at Troy you can do it. When you get 3 stars and a couple 4 stars going up against the same or better you need to be creative in what you do. Brown doesn't have that with offense. Only thing that saves him is taking his hands off the offense and bringing in a guy that knows what he's doing. And spare me the "young" or "inexperienced" crap. You can move the ball and score with youth if you have a creative scheme. First year coaches do it all the time and young players do it all the time. Mistakes are made by youth. You can still overcome that with a good OC to score more than 20 friggin points. Mullen was a better play caller.
