I know that Carlson isn't exactly Morten Anderson out there, but I think that all of the people excited about Richards are going to be disappointed this season. I'm hoping that he's still being hampered by injuries, but his kickoffs were pitiful last night. I really can't remember all of the particulars, but I know that he barely got it inside the 10-yard line on more than one kick.

he had a career ending injury last year, severely broken leg, and wasn't even suppose to play this year. I think he doing fine. Cut him some slack guys.

I would cut him some slack. But, he doesn't see the trainer all week long. And the night before the game, he said he couldn't kick. There is no excuse for that ****.

There was a kicker for Meridian High a few years ago. He would literally kick the football through the uprights. While the kickoff was on the 40 yard line, he'd still hit it at least 75-80 yards.
He walks on at Mstate, and the few times he kicks the ball, it barely gets to the 30!

Awalkerdog - where the heck are you getting your info? I think he had a small bone broken in his foot last year in the Spring. Coaches said it was possible he could be back by the end of the season but they would probably redshirt him.
He kicked in the fall and in the spring this year. So I don't get where you say he wasn't even supposed to kick this year. I don't blame him for breaking a bone in his foot. That happens...but the stories this year just haven't cast him in a good light. Even if he comes back to kick this year or next, you certainly can't depend on him to be your kicker so we'll have to go find another one next year to bring in as well.
