i have to work too hard to find the early round games on TV... so this is a good thing. it frees up more time to watch the other sports.

Is the pot smoking swimmer going to be back this time around? You know the guy that has a4 foot long upper body, 1.5 footlong neck and1 foot longlegsand heeats a lot. Can't remember his name but he broke Mark Spitz record.</p>

not good, it isn't exactly the end of the world. Hell, the majority of our current (and 2008 WC squad)first team didn't qualify for the 2004 Olympics. Not making the Olympics isn't the end of US soccer.

That year we won our group and wound up playing Mexico in the semis through bad luck and lost that game. This year we couldn't even finish 2nd in our group even though the 2 best teams other than us were in the other group. This is a much bigger fail than 2004 was.

I've been watching the US mens and womens national teams for well over a decade, close to two. No, it's not a big deal in terms of the mens team's future. But it's a HUGE failure for the U23 team .

Edit: How many national team games have you seen in person? I've been to 4, datingback to the qualifying rounds for the 2002 WorldCup.
