Group A
Belgium has guaranteed itself a playoff berth and Croatia will be second place. If Belgium ties or wins at Croatia next month, they will go to the World Cup. Croatia still needs to at least qualify for a playoff.
Group B
Italy has qualified for the World Cup with two games to go. Nice four-way battle for the second spot between Bulgaria (13 pts.), Denmark (12), the Czechs (9), and Armenia (9). Italy still has to play at Denmark and home against Armenia.
Group C
Germany has guaranteed itself a playoff berth and will advance to the World Cup with a win at Cologne against Ireland. Sweden can clinch second place but not necessarily a playoff berth with a win at home against Austria.
Group D
The Netherlands has qualified for the World Cup with two games to go. Nice three-way battle for the second spot among Hungary (14), Turkey (13), and Romania (13). Romania may have the upper hand with matches against the bottom two countries (Estonia and Andorra). Hungary and Turkey still have to play the Netherlands with the Dutch hosting the Hungarians and on the road at Turkey.
Group E
Switzerland leads the group and will advance to the World Cup with a win at Albania. Iceland is a surprising second with 13 points (they were in pot 6 in the draw), followed by Slovenia (12), Norway (11, the pot 1 country), and Albania (10). If Iceland defeats Cyprus at home and win at Norway, they will finish second.
Group F
Russia leads with 18 points over Portugal who has 17. Russia can advance to the World Cup if they defeat Luxembourg combined with Israel (third place with 12) taking points from Portugal. Israel will want to go for the win since they need to win out to have a chance to go to the World Cup.
Group G
Bosnia-Herzegovina and Greece have assured at least a playoff spot as both are tied at 19 points and face the two weakest countries in their last two matches (Liechtenstein and Lithuania). If Bosnia win both matches, they should advance to the World Cup as they have a 15-goal advantage over the Greeks.
Group H
England leads with 16 points, followed by Ukraine and Montenegro with 15 points, and Poland with 13 points with two matches remaining. The English will advance if they defeat Montenegro and Poland at home. Ukraine probably has the easiest remaining schedule with a home match against Poland and a road match at San Marino. Montenegro also hosts Moldova.
Group I
Spain and France have assured themselves of playoff spots with 14 points apiece. The champions have the advantage with a game in hand over the French and just need four points out of six in two home matches against Belarus and Georgia.
