I'd love to get the win, but I think I'd be OK with a draw (especially with a 3-goal advantage over them in goal differential).</p>

I don't even think they have their top players in the tournament.

The main thing I'm looking for is for Adu to step up and lead the team and, honestly, control the game. He was so/so during the Grenada game. This is a big tournament for him in terms of earning a spot on the team for 2010.

In that case, I expect a win even with our B team. It's really kind of strange to even be having this tournament in the same year as the finals of World Cup qualifying.

we pretty much controlled it. The second half subs made all the difference.

I wasn't thrilled by Adu either. However, I'm not sure Ching is a good partner up front for him. It doesn't seem like their styles mesh well.

Bradley rallied the main team during the Confederations Cup and seems to have this group of players at least meeting expectations.

Hard to complain about much right now.

In other soccer news, Michael Bradley was suspended for three games for his altercation with the ref after the Spain game. He will be allowed to count the Gold Cup even though he isn't on the roster. He should be ready to go for the next qualifier against Mexico.

for his club's pre-season in an effort to get some playing time next season, so that's it for him. I didn't realize he only had these two games to impress, but I'd have to say he didn't do anything to help his standing with the national team. He wasn't bad by any means, but he didn't stand out enough to break into the main team. Too bad. Feilhaber is gone too.

Ha, it's great that Bradley gets to serve his suspension now, when he wasn't going to be playing anyway.

It's hard to get too excited about our B-team playing in the Gold Cup, especially after last month's awesome Confed Cup, but I've enjoyed these first two games. It's nice to see us winning and taking care of business. Putting away opponents we should. I'll be disappointed with anything but winning the whole thing.

The USA rugby team beat Canada 12-6 on 7/4 in a qualifier for the 2011 world cup. In a show of tribute, USA male soccer players celebrated the event by running around limp wristed with their arms lifeless at their sides but still managed between the 'fake' injuries to weave championship doilies for the rugby team.

he gets the ball in open space and gets run down by defenders. He also tries to be to cute and gives up possession like it's a cheap hooker. Who was that tall guy they subbed in last to "get his feet wet" as the announcers said? I thought he looked like he had potential. He had a couple really good opportunities and can absolutely drill the ball.

with the exception of us and Mexico, and sometimes either or both of those teams suck too.
