Not surprising considering that West Ham was the closest contender to the site (another club is actually closer-- League One outfit Leyton Orient) and had what was perceived to be a better bid. I don't know how the Hammers plan to fill what will be (after post-Olympic downsizing) a 60,000 seat stadium though what with their tendency to yo-yo between the Premiership and Championship...

I'm sure their plan to tear downa brand newstadium and build a new one on the same site was DOA.
