Kind of surprised he's keeping Findley from last nights game and not Ching for next week's game though. I thought last night was a pretty good performance considering we were playing with the B team and El Salvador almost qualified for the World Cup, so they don't suck too bad. The 2-1 score was a lot closer than the run of play would indicate. Nice to see the team battle back to get the win in stoppage time after falling behind 0-1 in the 2nd half.

The fact that EJ is called up agian tells me that Bob Bradley is not the man to take the team to SA. I really want to see Torres play, I havent seen him yet and I hearhe might be the second best mf we have.

Unfortunately, he's what we're stuck with though. Honestly, he hasn't sucked as bad as I thought he would. But I'd still trade him for a solid European coach tomorrow if I could.

photos leaked awhile ago, but they were officially released today. the sash is an homage to our jersies from the 1950 WC in which we beat england 1-0

Looks like something from one of my U-12 soccer tournaments. It needs to be tweaked. Does it really need a 1982 Voit soccer ball in the logo? We know they are playing soccer, no need to include the ball in the logo.

I'm not crazy about it, but its better than the 06 jerseys. I wish we had all white home jerseys, blue with some design on them for away, and red third jerseys for finals or big games like playing England in the WC. I just wish we had a set all white home jersey so it would befamiliar like the blue stripes for Arg, or the yellow and blue for Brazil.

Torress has potential but we have a relatively deep midfield and he wasn't at all amazing in the games he has played in.

I'm not defending the choice of Eddie Johnson by any means, but we don't have a lot of options up front for this game.

Just quickly glancing over the list, Clint Dempsey will be in South Africa but isn't on the list due to injury. Onyewu is with him as well.

I'm really curious as to how Beasley will do now. When he is on, he is very good. I think he had an injury recently but had appeared to regain his form as of late. That is nothing but good new for us.

What I'm really hoping for...is Charlie Davies!

I do like the reference back to 1950 in a year we're playing England in the World Cup. Nice move.

I think Beasley and Holden are going to have to really step up for us. If Davies is still hurt we need either Dempsey or Donovan upfront. If Davies is good then that means we can have Demps and Donovan down the wings.

I would rather see Altidore, Findley, Cunningham upfront than EJ.

Anny news on if were going to get to see Jones before the WC? I want him to play, but he doesn't deserve a shot for the US if he doesn't get a cap before.

Cooper if hes not injured. I'm not too sure why BB really doesn't see him as better than Casey or EJ.

I wish he would also give some of the young guys that play in the lower English leagues a chance even if its the last 5 min or so like
Grella 5 goals for Leeds,
Guy 6 goals for St. Pats,Ireland,
Pittman 7 goals for Wycombe.

EJ has had his chances and now its time for a younger striker to get his chance. I'm just scared that Altidore is looking like he might be the next EJ and Adu.

the only thing Adu brings to the table is his 5'6", 130# frame that any international player from New Zealand could dominate. Adu is not the answer.

other notes:
1. it's good to see Beasley and Edu back in the mix. when in form, they have the ability to give us the depth and experience we need right now and in the WC.
2. agreed, BB isn't the answer. he can't seem to put it all together and spends too much time wasting playing time on players who aren't going to make the cut. hopefully he has been taking notes on how Everton's manager has been utilitzing Donovan and will work his gameplan accordingly.
3. Altidore and Dempsey should be up top. after that we need one more forward to throw in there for fresh legs...NOT Ching, EJor the MLS gang. we are deep at outside mid/all across the mid.
4. it's good to see Simek back in the mix as well. i think Cherundolo is past his prime, although still solid, but we need more depth on the outside in the back. also, Hedjuk (SP?) is not the answer.

that Bradley will put Dempsey up top. It simply will not happen. I'm kindof surprised that Adu did not make this team, he has been playing pretty well in Greece. EJ has been playing pretty well too. I doubt he sees the field so he will have a chance to get in camp and make his case. This could be his last shot to make it in.

dempsey does relatively well at right mid but the times Bradley has pushed him up top he has found the net remarkably well. we lack depth up top, not in the middle and Dempsey would serve well in the that roaming striking role that we currently lack. altidore serves as a nice target forward with some pace. putting another player similar to him but lacking pace(i.e. ching) up top makes no sense.

expalin your "no way bradley puts dempsey up top". if you're going to make such a blunt point, at least back it up with reason. then again, if you think Adu is the answer your reasoning skillz may be lacking in the first place.

That sounds vaguely familiar...

I kid. I agree with you - it would be nice to have a recognizable look. That's basic sports marketing. Maybe the sash could be a mainstay? Does anyone else do that?

There is no way that Dempsey will be put up top because Bradley is a stubborn terd who refuses to play players in their correct positions (see Croom). It is obvious that Dempsey should be used as he is at Fulham, but this will not happen in the WC. Bradley prefers to have him disappear in the midfield. And nowhere did I say that Adu was "the answer" I said that I was surprised he did not make the roster because the US has zero creativity in the midfield and Adu has shown that in the past. Anymore questions?

I would love to see us go with Altidore and Dempsey up top with Donovan in the roving/attacking mid position. That is a lot to deal with for a defense. Dempsey has the creativity to cause huge problems when supported by Donovan's quickness and Altidore's strength.

We may see some actual goals in this World Cup....
