4-4-1-1 with Dempsey playing as an attacking midfielder. What do you think about that?

Obviously it's a product of not really having a great option to play beside Altidore, but I would've rather seen Buddle start in a 4-4-2 today.

The main thing I like about this is Dempsey attacking. He is lost in a lot of games when he is strictly in the midfield. I'm not sure what I really think about the lineup yet tho. Goodson playing over Gooch is interesting tho. Will this stick? Goodson looked good against the Czechs while Gooch did not

Playing on our heels and packing our defense in will not win matches. Turkey should have scored at least 1 already.

Perfect example of how not to cover for a defender who's pushed up into the attack. 1-0 Turkey.

I have a sinking feeling that England is going to thrash us like 3-0, and then the wheels will fall off. This team is just not good enough yet. We're getting throttled by teams that aren't even in the WC. We have raised our level to be the dominant team in our region, and competitive against other clubs in the world, but we aren't ready for prime time yet. We have 2-3 world class players that could play for any country's national team - which is an improvement from years past - but we have a ways to go.

I think we look OK in all areas except the back line. That looks terrible. Is it too late to replace Jonathon Spector on the 23-man roster? We desparately need Gooch to get 100% well and play. If we play defense like this in Africa, we won't advance.

Findley looks damn good so far for all the people who said he was a worthless pick over ching. 1-1 goal by altidore.

back line has not been terrible. Our MF is giving up too much space. in teh back. Spector wasn't really to fault for that goal. We just didn't have anyone covering for him. That is just a lack of communication. He's a hell of alot better than Cherundelo or Bornstein in my mind.

But the way we conceded that goal was schoolyard-like. If we don't tighten that up, England will get 3-4 on us. England has much more "quality" than does Turkey. (Channeling my inner BBC commentator)

Great effort, though, to come back. And it's amazing that a sport "nobody cares about" draws almost 60k very vocal USA fans. Great win to head off to Africa with.

Torres definately was man of the match for the way he controlled the game in the second half. Hopefully there will be no more playing of a 4-4-1-1. Having someone beside Altidore, especially with Findley's speed, opened up a lot more holes to run through.
