USA vs. Brazil on the deuce. Brazil up 1-0 right now, almost had 2 except they crushed Howard in the box.

I didn't think we ever really had a chance. And Kljeston or however you spelled it sucked. He played some tuurrrible balls. Missed Altidore on what would have been a wide open breakaway.

But Brazil is good. Young and damn good.

the really bad part is that wasn't even Brazil's first team. I think they said they only had 4 guys that had more than 1 international appearance.

also, tonight was the exact opposite of how USA played in the world cup. they had energy and aggression for the first 15-20 minutes, then sat back and got worked.

I guess they were going for the national team's triumphant return after a huge World Cup success, but what they wound up with was two teams that somewhat disappointed in the World Cup. And with most of the world's top leagues just gearing up to get a new season started and MLS teams fighting for playoff position, I can't imagine the players could really get up for a friendly. I think Brazil was smart to bring their younger players. Those guys probably took the game more seriously than their veterans would have.

As for Bradley, that damn well better be his last game. But US soccer is never going to really advance until someone can get Sunil Gulati and his gang out of power.

If Dunga hadn't been the coach, you probably would have seen a few of those younger players in the WC. They probably had something to prove after being left off the 23 man WC roster. That being said, we were pathetic last night.

And finally,a quote from ExtremeDog, "PACK YOUR BAGS GULATI, BRADLEY AND BORNSTEIN AND GET OUTTA TOWN!!!!"</p>

But I don't think it helped the supposedly on-going discussions in any way.

Gut feeling: I'd be surprised if Bradley were back for the US. I think you'll see him soon in an MLS stadium near you.

so I don't think it's much of a surprise that we played. Italy played Ivory Coast as well yesterday and there may have been a few other games.

I'm just glad that US Soccer is finally taking advantage of them (over the last year or so) because technically speaking clubs are required to release players if a natioanal association asks for them. In the past, we would schedule friendlies without any regard to the international calendar and then wonder why clubs didn't want to release players.
