It appears that all four EPL teams will advance, and that interestingly, Dortmund has some work to do.

This is good for the EPL coeficients, which probably could not actually get much better, but I want to throw up a little when I see Arsenal succeed.

I second this...

but I want to throw up a little when I see Arsenal succeed.

Juve have a tough road to qualify, but it's definitely not out of the question. They've got a road match with Galatasaray and at home to Copenhagen. Six points is a must. Forza!

They've already got both games in the books against Real. Two beatable but pesky sides to go.

I've been an Arsenal fan for nearly 20 years so needless to say I loved the win. I want the Gunners to have a strong finish in the group.

By the way, you're a Spurs supporter? Tottenham's got a good club. I've had 2-3 Spurs players starting on my fantasy BPL team though I am contemplating transferring Sigursson and getting another midfielder...

Yeah, I'm a Spurs supporter, but despite my comment, I really don't have the same level of Arsenal hate that local fans over there do. More of a healthy rivalry. I really pull against Chelsea just as much or more. And the only player I even have close to the same dislike for as John Terry or Fernando Torres, who are complete a-holes, is little Jackie Wilshire, who just goes down too easy and complains too much. I've actually decided that with Arsenal's start, the best thing for Spurs is for Arsenal and Man City - who I believe will start rolling, its just a matter of time - to beat up on the other contenders for the Champions League spots. Spurs are not a real contender for the title this year.

Spurs have some great players in the squad, but haven't settled on their best XI. I actually think Siggy deserves to be in it, but might drop him from a fantasy team because you can't count on him to start. It probably won't be this year, but I really believe Siggy could blow up at some point sort of like Aaron Ramsey has this year.

Arsenal better watch out for Man City, that team has the potential to dominate if they can stop conceding MLS-worthy 17-up goals.

Yeah. I would not be surprised to see Spurs improve their position too and Man City as well. They made the move from Hart to Pantilimon in their last league match and he also started against CSKA Moscow.

They've also got some problems at center back. The goal given up against Weimann for Aston Villa was horrible defending from both center backs.

If Kompany can return and get a good string of games, that will work itself out. I have no doubt that Hart has the potential to be better than Pantilimon, but his head is not right. Maybe he's just not the goal keeper for a team that plays a high line, but I wouldn't think Pantilimon would be either.

Thanks! I had been looking for a summary like that since yesterday.

That was a clutch (and, for me, unexpected) win for the Gunners yesterday. After cheering for Arsenal for the last 10+ years, those are the kinds of games they always seemed to lose in the past. I'm starting to think this team really learned some toughness in the gauntlet they had to run at the end of last season - and it's carried over. So far, they seem to have the mental toughness and confidence that may not have been there in some past seasons. I'm hoping they can get 4 points from Marseille and Napoli - that should be plenty to guarantee advancement. And, even better, it would be nice if they could go to Naples without worries so they could rest some guys. On to Old Trafford!!

MaroonEagle (and other Arsenal fans), if you have not, check out The Tuesday Club podcast. It's hosted by British comedian (and lifelong Arsenal fan), Alan Davies, and some of his friends. It's really, really funny and entertaining every week as they recap the previous week's match(es) - and make fun of Spurs.

You're welcome. Four points would be nice but I'm hoping for all six and winning the group as I don't want Arsenal to face a group winner in the round of 16. I keep meaning to check out the podcast. I never have time though... ...and yes, on to Old Trafford!

I've decided that the best result for Spurs is, ugh, a Arsenal win over Manure. Or maybe a draw.

City supporter here. I'm glad the Sky Blues have finally made it to the knockout round, but they have got problems all over the back line. Clichy has been dreadful as of late, and Garcia is out of position. DiMichelis seems to be a good addition, and I can only hope that Kompany will get back healthy and in form. I see Pants taking over the goalkeeping duties for a few weeks before Hart is given back the spot. I don't know what his mental situation is.

Thank Jeebus for Sergio Aguero. Negredo is proving to be a class signing.

Both the Gunners and Spurs are doing better than I expected going into the season. Kudos to them thus far.

Aguero has been completely ridiculous thus far.

That equalizer against Chelsea was just nasty. He left Cech grasping for air. Negredo is earning his nickname, "The Beast". Toure and Silva are playing as well as any midfielders in the world. I'd like to see a little more out of Fernandinho.

But you are all right, my Blues need help at center back. Kompany's return will definitely help. Agree that Clichy has been garbage. We have so much damn depth, I wish we couldve let go of some of that to land a big defender like Ramos, Chiellini, Silva or someone of that quality.
