trade offer in my main PPR league:

I would receive Cutler, Mendenhall, and Calvin Johnson

I would give up Aaron Rodgers, Randy Moss, and Ryan Matthews

What say ye?

I think that Favre is a significant downgrade from Brady at this point. But I don't understand why the Pats would solicit this trade when they are on a roll and Moss is a key cog of their offense. He's certainly their main big play threat.

Getting Cutler for any combination is terrible. I have him and he can't be trusted. Great one week and sucks the next. I wouldn't do it. Plus, Matthews will be healthy soon and Moss will be the primary for Farve if he goes. I know he hasn't done much but he will in Minnesota.

Unless you're sold on Moss tanking. I think the Minnesota deal (which ESPN says is done) will help him. I've been wanting to see the Favre to Moss connection for years. Sucks that it's for the Vikings, but oh well...<div>
</div><div>As for your trade...</div><div>
</div><div>Mendenhall is great, but the Steelers are going to throw it a lot more once Rapethisburger comes back. Mathews hasn't exactly proven that's he's durable, but I don't see Mendenhall being that far ahead of him by season's end.</div><div>
</div><div>It's seems obvious that Favre isn't going to be as magical this season, but I'm still having visions of Brett stumbling around in the pocket near his own goaline, grunting and slinging a pass 80 yards down field, and hitting Randy Moss in stride for a 90 yard score. Maybe it's wishful thinking, but I think there's no better receiver in the game for Favre than Moss. Calvin Johnson is a massive talent is his own right, but the quarterback situation in Detroit isn't all that stable either. Johnson is the safer bet right now, but with Moss's potential I say this is a wash.</div><div>
</div><div>The difference is Rodgers for Cutler. You're gambling for a payoff that will rarely rake more than your sure bet. And we all know how much you love teasers. You might improve slightly at either skill position based on the health and attitude of those guys mentioned, but you're losing big in the QB category.</div>

I wish I had Rodgers - GB loves to throw the ball in the red zone, and Rodgers will run a few in too. With Cutler, he could have a good game, but he is just as likely to lay an egg any given week.

as the back-up...my problem is that I dont have a WR I can count on- Mal Floyd, Greg Jennings, Moss, and just picked up Brandon Lloyd...I got 16 points this past weekend out of Moss, Jennings, and Floyd...

Hillis and Bradshaw are my main RB's, with J. Best as a back-up

it may depend more on your point and roster settings. Any of Jennings, Moss, and Floyd could have a big week, though it's not likely that all do on the same week, plus you may have a week like last week. But at least there are three of them, so you have a few chances.

With a QB, you only get one shot. And in the 2 leagues I'm in, getting solid numbers from your QB is a must. With Rodgers, they have no real RB threat, so he's going to get his yards and TDs. I just think I'd rather take my chances at WR, knowing I haveRodgers at QB. Plus Moss going to the Vikings could be huge.

I've had Garrard before, and he's pretty inconsistent. This year, his TDs by game are 3,0,1,2. I think he's just what you said - a backup.

I would take that trade. Garrard as the backup might become your starter and he's not great, but he'll get you minimum 10pts..Calvin and Mendenhall should combine on average to get you 18-22points a week.

you won't find a player on the Pats who has anything bad to say about Randy Moss. He wanted a contract extension and the Pats organization traditionally doesn't extend older guys (Rodney Harrison, Richard Seymour, etc). Now they have 2 picks in each of the first 4 rounds of next year's draft I believe.

Rogers for Cutler isn't even an option. Rogers is one of the top 3 QBs in the league, Cutler might be top 10.

I think Mendenhall is going to really lose some carries when Rothlesburger gets back. Rothlesburger throws it a ton. I know they have this smash mouth reputation, but on offense they sling it around. I dont see that being different this year. They have the same core of WRs as last year, and he's got 2 weeks to work on timing since they're off this week.

Calvin Johnson for Randy Moss is a toss up. I dont think anyone knows how the Moss to Minnesota thing will work out, but being he main target for them can't hurt. I wouldn't think CJ is a great pick up in a ppr league, at least not until Stafford gets back. He'll get redzone targets, but they're not exactly lighting it up through the air.

Overall:

I think you lose in all 3 aspects. Mendenhall will lose some carries and they play some hellacious Ds the rest of the way. Cutler for Rogers isn't an option.

The Rams have some guys that can play. I'm not sure how deep your league is, but there are 2 guys on the Rams that you could pick up in a 12 man league.

Darius Heyward Bey is a little knicked up, but he's a threat to catch some balls too.

Devon Best for Miami wouldn't be a bad in a ppr league. He gets targeted by Henne more than Marshall.

Cutler is hit and miss- but he will hit in that offense
CJ is good and their schedule gets better for him'- i'm solid at RB with him, Bradshaw, Hillis, and Best
Calvin is a top WR and gives me a no-brainer play there each week- now I just gave to choose who to add with him from Lloyd, M. Floyd, or Jennings
