Five of these teams will host and three won't. Y'all can probably guess who some of these teams are, but oh well.

ETA: I couldn't see anything but the first 3 teams on IPad. So my comment was based on teams a-c.

I'd rank the top 5:

1) Team F - MSU
2) Team A - Clemson(?)
3) Team H - South Car(?)
4) Team C - Ark(?)
5) Team G - Kansas State(?)

The problem is though, MSU fans have gravitated towards "RPI Top 50" being the way to slice up resumes. Every comparision we make it's W/L against RPI top 50. The committee might put more weight towards W/L vs RPI Top 25 or PRI top 10, which I think will shift things away from us. I know the main knock on our resume is that South Car's has higher 'peaks' because they have a series win on LSU and Clemson.

Just food for thought.

After looking at this since posting, I ranked mine:

1) Team A- Clemson
2) Team F- Miss. State
3) Team H- USCe
4) Team B- UCLA
5) Team D- Kansas State
6) Team E- South Alabama
7) Team G- Arizona State
8) Team C- Arkansas

I know geography and politics go into this too, but this is how I'd rank them by merit. Also, I honestly don't see how Arkansas is even in consideration, but that's just me.

To 57: You may be right about the record v. top 50 RPI not being a big focal point, but I just chose it because that's how Warren Nolan records it.

Don't see how you could rank Team A over Team F. Slightly worse overall record against a slightly worse schedule, plus slightly worse record against top-50 teams. Only advantage they have is conference record and 10 of those 18 wins came against Duke, Maryland, Wake & BC; all of which are much worse than anyone Team F played in their conference.

I'd replace Team C with Team B...

So UCLA in place of Arkansas, make Arkansas a #2 seed and send them to Kansas State.

Yeah, I didn't look in depth at who they played in conference... Regardless, the main point in all of this though is that our résumé is much better than the "experts" are giving us credit for, and we should be an easy lock to host regardless of SEC tourney results.

Do you by any chance have the conference rankings of Teams E and F reversed?

Took me a while to realize conference ranking is the ranking of the entire conference compared to all other conferences. The ACC's RPI is #1, SEC #2, etc. It's not where that team finished in their conference.

Regarding the Top 25 RPI comment, we are very close to really enhancing our record vs RPI Top 25. Bama and Florida sit at 26 and 27. If they can move up in the SEC Tourney that moves our Top 25 RPI record from 6-8 to 11-9 by adding in our 5-1 record against those 2.

Wow. Nice catch. That seems like that would be big, IMO.

To follow up on that, an early exit from Cal-Poly, UNC-Wilmington, or ULL would probably do the trick as they're sitting at22, 23, and 24, respectively.
