Houston Nutt – Every WR’s dream

2000 – Finished 89th in NCAA and 11th in SEC (Passing Offense)
2001 – Last in conference and 102nd in NCAA (146.6 yds/game). Next to last in SEC in pass attempts.
2002 – Finished 108 in nation in passing offense at 129 yds/game
2003 – 88th in passing offense. Only attempted 304 passes which ranked last in the conference
2004 – Threw for a whooping 3 TDs and 13 INT. Ranked 10 in the conference in pass attempts (USC and Vandy had 5 less).
2005 – Ranked 11th in SEC in passing offense in conference at 143 yds/game. Again finished last in passing attempts.
2006 – Again ranked next to last in the conference in passing offense at 149 yds/game. 10th in Pass Attempts
2007 – Ranked 10th in SEC passing offense. Last in pass attempts.

His best years at Arkansas were 1998 (32nd NCAA) and 1999 (38th), his first 2 years where he inherited more of a passing team, which coincidentally was much like his first 2 years at Bear University.

There's a reason Mitch Mustain called Jevan Snead and told him to leave Ole Miss before Houston Nutt got there and that he would kill your career. It's going to be interesting to see how he plans on creating any type of offensive system when he has basically no offensive plan. Hell, he's got about 5 different types of QBs on the roster as it is. I can see it now, spread option 1st Quarter, Pro-style 2nd Quarter, Wild Rebel 3rd, and FB Dive 4th.

Most of those years you point out he had Matt Jones the Felix and McFadden. Would expect gaudy passing numbers with that personnel. At least I wouldn't.

As you noted, he throws it around pretty well when his personnel is of such.

Didn't realize comment on a thread about our HC and team was somehow staunchly defending anything. Not only that...but why wouldnt a fan defend his team? What else is there to do? That said, I am not even sure what I would be defending? Did it need defending? I Just commented. Am I wrong? If you don't want comments, I suggest not starting threads.

The passing game is not a big complaint for me. Of course, I am not worried about Arkansas stats. I don't really do predictions. Surely not in January.

Have a good one.
