any time you can figure out how to win on TWO hits against a team known for its hitting. However you do it is fine by me; honestly, that means you're thinking.<div>
</div><div>I like what it says about our pitching, too. They're tough mentally, and they have the talent to get the job done. They're resilient. And, they're perfectionists and take responsibility.</div><div>
</div><div>Cohen (or Thompson, or whomever) picking Pollorena today is a good sign to me that they know our staff and know when it's appropriate to bring them in or not. I had a feeling for some reason a few weeks ago that they were bringing him along to be our Sunday starter. But they took their time with him and made sure it was a good spot for him. And that's the perfect time for him, he seems like he enjoys that type of game and breeds on it. Our staff being so deep gave us that luxury. The only complaint I have with them on pitching this year was making Reed the Sunday starter when he wasn't ready for that. I think that could have been from some outside pressure, though.</div><div>
</div><div>Now we have a whole week to rest/heal up, and figure out what to do on hitting. Good time to evaluate some guys in practice that, God knows, might have to come in and put in significant time if we get any more banged up. Think we need to re-iterate that when you're up there to swing, you're looking for holes more than the fence. Or, we should be considering very few of them have the power to be jacking homers right and left.</div><div>
</div><div>Dunno- we obviously have some things to fix, but not sure how you can not be happy with playing to win with what we can do. I'd much rather say that than have to say what OM has to say: they lost a series to a team that hit .143 on them for the weekend and could not figure out how to put the pieces together to take it.</div>
