if you really expect us to beat UGA this weekend. We have shown nothing in the past two weeks that leads me to believe that we can score more than 14 points on a SEC defense, and you just cant win many scoring that little. UGA has not looked all that bad and should have beaten Arkansas this weekend. We found a way to lose to Auburn, and looked like a junior high team against LSU.
I still think we can get to 6 wins, but I just don't see any way we beat UGA.

UGA lost to a decent Arkansas team at home. Nothing about UGA scares me. No reason we could not beat them.

No team has killed us through the air yet. It's been QB's extending drives by running for 1st downs. I think Georgia's offense plays right into the hands of our attack defense and we will get a couple of turnovers by getting Murray to make mistakes. I also think we will have the opportunity, if we can take advantage of it, to run the ball between the tackles against this 3-4 defense. I'm not saying Russell is Mallett by any stretch, but Mallett threw for 380 yards against this defense. I think Tyler Russell can come in and get 100 to 150 passing yards if he gets the playing time. We have a chance to win this game. At home, down Georgia team, freshman at QB for them.

UGA "looked good" in beating a decent Arkansas team, while we "found a way to lose" to a decent Auburn team. We"looked like a jr. high team" against LSU, but you don't mention how UGA lookedagainst South Carolina (their offense looked worse than our has in any game this season and that's saying a lot). Truth is, right now, neither of these teams looks very good.

There's 6 for you. Not saying we will win all of those, but those are games we should either be favored in, or have a very good chance to win.

Like above, if we win this weekend we will beat alcorn, uab, houston and kentucky and be 6-2 with three to play. If we get to this point then the last two weeks will not sting as bad.

We've beaten ourselves by not making makeable plays. Dropping spot-on passes in the Auburn game. Throwing up gifts in the LSU game. Its not like our QBs are being out-smarted by defensive coverages. Our guys have just made simple mistakes and hopefully that will vanish.

You want a positive? How about our short yardage running game. A number of times on 3rd and short, our RBs have looked really really good. They're taking 2-3 hits prior to making a first down. But they keep their balance, spin twist, drive their legs, push people forward, and make first downs. That has really impressed me.

My biggest concern is kickoff coverage. Our kickoff suck and that's not going to change. Our coverage is bad - Mullen blames it on kickoffs with no hang time. I don't know what the problem is. But not fixing kickoff coverage is going to hurt us bad.

Similar concern for kick return. How did this get so awful? And can we but Berry in position to take a kick? I know people are kicking away from him. But its not rocket science to have the 2 KR guys swap places as the kicker starts moving forward to kick. We used to do this when Glen Young was returning kicks.

have been. They are probably a little more talented than we are but not by the margin or Auburn or LSU. If we play well and the crowd gets into it then I think we can win it. It sure would be nice.

to lsu taught us nothing about our team. we all knew it wouldnt because we just arent going to beat them. last year proved that. as pointed out in another thread, the fact that they only scored 29 on us at home says more than anything else. it will be nice one day to beat them but it is not nor ever will be an accurate barometer for how good or bad we are (see 1998).

in my limited perspective, the reason we cant beat lsu is because we arent as good as them at lining it up and being physical and never will be. they just get bigger and better athletes on defense than we do. not to mention the fact that when you play line it up physical ball control football, you cant turn it over 5 times and for some reason we seem to have twice to three times our average turnovers against them. every one of those guys on defense will get a shot at the nfl and we cant compete with that. seriously, look at the teams that can beat lsu consistently. they are either better than lsu at lining it up and being physical or they out scheme them (see hal mumme kentucky). what about ole miss? every rule has its exception and ole miss is it in this case i suppose. they just getup for that game and play them tough. just like vandy always play ole miss tough. who knows.

we can still come out and win some games and i believe we will but lsu didnt teach me anything. even if we had won. the next time we beat lsu i am going to sacrifice a chicken and drink its blood because it wont be due to the fact that we are better than them. we have been better than them many times and still got drilled.

I have a feeling things get worked out this week. They are going to be reeling from a tough home loss, meanwhile, we just loss our usual scrimmage. We matchup well with UGA.

Houston is now a win for us. We will win all our non conference games and if we can pull out two SEC games we will go bowling. I have thought from the start six or seven wins and how we got there I did not know. I never considered LSU to be one of them. Our history with that school and playing at LSU there was no way in hell we were going to win that one.

are kick offs and Fg's. If it comes down to a FG then we're screwed. Until then.....what's wrong with a lil crack from time to time? BTW uga completely sucked *** against usc. Regardless of who wins uga struggles w/ us and uk...and maybe vandy for that matter.</p>
