I am cautiously (very) optimistic about this team. If we don’t have three single inning blow ups vs Troy, Arizona and Oklahoma State we are sitting at 14-1 going into SEC play and everyone is on board. i know the schedule is soft but we have hit much worse vs equally easy schedules in the last three years. At this point a believe we host. Will there still be games where Lemonis manages us into a loss? Probably, but even with that he has proven that he can manage a team with enough talent very deep into the post season. We appear to have that talent level this year.

I share your cautious optimism but still not where we should be four seasons after a NC.

We've lost too many games, but our stats are not bad.

Among SEC teams, we are 5th in batting average and 4th in ERA.

RPI is 94 in America, so you better hold on awhile to your booty holes if you're excited about this team. We've played an awful schedule. Beating up on the sisters of the poor will make you look better than you are and we still haven't looked great.

7-9 Xavier is the no. 2 RPI team in America, which should tell you everything you need to know about RPI rankings this early in the season.

Also, our RPI is currently 94, compared to the "previous" RPI of 67. If I'm right, "previous" simply means before yesterday's games, which shows that you can't get much from RPI right now.

I don't know how much we can take from this non-con. Luckily, we're about to find out. Losing to Troy and then going 1-2 in Houston isn't good. But, most everything else has been good. Time to find out.

Hard to take much one way or the other from the schedule so far. We've really played only 5 games. We're 1-4 with 3 close losses and a blowout win.

Instead of scheduling queens we should have entered the 13u perfect game in Ruston this past weekend. Better competition

RPI is at the bottom of the SEC, we haven't played anyone compared to our conference brethren. We all know it improves with conference play but it still shows that crap schedule we've played.

Our RPI is about 15 spots behind LSU and 10-15 spots ahead of A&M. Oh the horror.

But our strength of schedule!!! Yeah it’s not great but look at the rest of the league aon the whole and we are a little worse than middle of the pack.

Vandy - 39
SC - 81
Tenn - 95
Auburn - 103
OM - 106
Arky - 111
A&M - 119
UGA - 147
Bama - 148
UF - 152
STATE - 161
Oklahoma - 172
Texas - 183
Uk - 189
Missouri - 202
LSU - 274

the only thing we have going against us is that we lost some games while figuring out our rotation. None of these numbers really matter but I don’t get the point in using them to continually put down the program. This year is visibly different than the last few and I think we see that come to fruition in league play.

Yea, we've either played good teams or bad teams and nothing in between. We are currently 1-4 against good teams and 10-0 against bad teams. I also don't understand why we pitched JT Schnoor and Gavin Black in that one inning that cost us the game against Troy but haven't pitched either of them anytime before or since? That's just really weird.
