Some surprising things from tonight's game

1) The offense seemed to play much faster. There were times we snapped the ball with +20 seconds left on the play clock.
2) Under center with a huge fullback on short yardage, running straight ahead.
3) Running out routes on 3rd and medium. Barker seemed to throw this route well.
4) Barker should have been picked off in the end zone. He does not see the front side safety on the slant that crosses the middle of the field.

It was nice seeing Hyde completely blow someone up on one of our TD runs in the first half. I'd like to see more of him against UL.

I would of liked to seen him all season. I was fully expecting to see him blow somebody up with kemp behind him against Vandy but nope. We would rather have 0 points.

I know it was bad competition..but UK has to get under Center, with a FB and run/play action in short yardage more often. Being in shotgun trying to get short yardage situations has been a nemesis for UK all year long and is scheme...not talent. I hope we go away from the Air raid formations so much and get more into these sets on going.

Couldn't agree more! The o-line had problems pass blocking Charlotte!! I say pin their ears back and challenge the o-line to perform in some smash-mouth football! run play-action more! The passing game has too many deficiencies, whether it be o-line or qb's or receivers dropping passes. Go with the higher percentage calls running, and catch em off guard with the pass! JMO!

The good thing about last night was that it was a clean game. Very few stupid penalties. Players in position except for one series where they were going fast pace and had to call a timeout to get some guys off the field. But in general, special teams seemed competent even without McGinnis. ( though I really hope he's available next week) we won the game like an SEC is supposed to win against an opponent like that.
