Some thoughts after watching again.

Besides the obvious:

1) Early in the game, Dykes said that there were 4 future pros in the building - Moultrie, Jenkins, Taylor, and Ezeli. Did anyone else here this? I guess he's saying he doesn't think Bost or Sidney make it, which I can see happening.

2) Related - Moultrie has pro moves offensively.

3) Brian Bryant is starting because he rebounds the basketball. He's averaging 5 boards/game (8 last night). He needs to stop pushing it offensively with the dribble drives. In the long run, though, I think he's the right one to be starting, and he lets us bring a shooter off the bench with fresh legs. That doesn't explain leaving Steele on the bench for so long after he went 5 for 7, though.

4) Renardo could at least start stepping out to help on screens when it comes to defense. He gets really engaged when a guy brings the ball at him, but if they're more than an arm's length away he looks bored out of his mind.

5) Wendell's struggles have to be much more of a concern than Smith's return as far as depth goes. Bryant handled the PG backup minutes fairly well last night, but that wasn't against pressure. Even then, both Hood and Moultrie can bring the ball up on press, unlike the past few years. To play very many minutes with a 4-guard lineup with this team would be a shame.

I don't know about Sidney getting drafted, but over the past few games he has certainly proven some people wrong. Bost will at least get looks on being drafted, and Hood is projected to be a lottery pick next year.Dykes didn't even mention Hood, so from that point on I just tuned him out.

I will agree with you on Wendell. If we can getDeville back healthy, we have 5 guys in Bost, Smith, Hood, Steele, and Bryant that I don't mind taking the ball up the floor. But down low we only have 2 guys in Moultrie and Sid that can do anything in the post. Wendell has to get some balls and start being more aggressive. He set some of the pussiest high screens I've ever seen last night. He needs to get his confidence back because we need someone in the post to be a factor when Moultire and/or Sid are out of the game.

Sid won get drafted, anytime soon. He needs to mature some more, develope an NBA body, and get to where he can run.
No NBA team will waste a draft choice on him...at this time.

just my opinion.

I just thought it was odd that he was so confident about Taylor and Ezeli over Renardo and Dee. All of them are about in the same boat - 2nd rounders with an outside shot at making it. Moultire and Jenkins are in a completely different class.
