the guy had 17 solo tackles last year and he is a 2nd team pick. I know he missed some games but, when he played, he didn't do much. I don't get it at all.
Agreed. The potential is there for him to be great but he's one of those guys that feels entitled to do whatever he wants. I remember waiting in line to get in a bar a few months ago and Denzel walked right up to the front door and was let in without having to show ID or pay a cover charge. He looked back at us poor folks and just smiled as he was walking in. I turned around and left because I was so disgusted. He's 2nd team Ole Miss, though most of that is attitude related, but I don't get 2nd team All-SEC when you're 2nd team on your own team's depth chart.
I have heard rumors that even Robert says that Denzel is a bad influence for him. That's just good rumor though.
He did play most of last year injured and/or missed games. Plus, I think he spent some time in the coaches' dog house, so that impacts his stats. If he has his mind right, he can be an exceptional player. The numbers he put up as a redshirt freshman were stat-book filling. He was all over everywhere, intercepting passes, forcing fumbles, getting tackles, you name it.
I wouldn't have voted him All-SEC though based on the assumption that he's going to get his mind right, because that's no guarantee, and he's going into the season playing behind Bird Bryant, who has proven to be quite a player himself.
He acts this way because the good people of Oxford allow this **** to go on. No one to blame but yourselves.
Would you be against allowing a popular MSU player to cut to the front of the line at a Starkville bar?
Do you not follow MSU sports? The most popular player in the history of our school was kicked out of the line to get into our shittiest bar recently, and the next day that bar tweeted that he was a thug.

Yeah, that's kind of my point. When Dixon wasn't allowed to cut to the front of the line, almost everyone here was outraged and ready to boycott Cowbells for daring to treat him that way. But Dental Dawg's acting like there's some moral deficiency of Oxford residents that allows such outrageous conduct to transpire.
whereas the typical popular UM player is a classless thug that spits there off field time between drugs, battery, and sexual assaults.

You would figure a pot smoker would be more laid back.
I'm just not sure what point you're trying to make. I was simply attempting to illustrate that when your beloved Booby was denied entry into Cowbells, the consensus here was that Cowbells was stupid and should've allowed him to jump to the front of the line, which apparently is exactly what a bar in Oxford did for Denzel, much to the consternation of Dental Dawg, apparently.
But I'm sure you're correct that MSU's humble, salt-of-the-earth players would never patronize a bar, much less engage in criminal behavior such as trying to cut to the front of the line. And if an MSU player DID have the audacity to do such a thing, he would totally get his *** kicked by the older players, I think is your point there at the end. (And I don't really know about this VIP section business. I wasn't aware we had such places.)
Pot? He hung out with Marshall Henderson. I would assume white girl is more of his drug of choice...at least that's what I've heard.
Honestly, Denzel is likely destined to just be a member of Robert's posse. He'll be the one that all Robert's future coaches in the NFL hate, because he'll always be distracting Robert and getting him into trouble.
I just hope as a fan that he gets his act together well enough to be awesome for a couple years. Then he can get on with acting a fool all he wants.
No, but the typical popular MSU player is a good person who splits his time off the field and out of the weight room between class, church, and volunterring for the less fortunate whereas the typical popular UM player is a classless thug that spits there off field time between drugs, battery, and sexual assaults.
And prostitute-daughters of alumni. Please don't forget the prostitute-daughters of alumni.
The sad thing is I'm convinced you actually believe this.
