Apparently the school stands behind the players...

sued for two million dollars for beating up a frat boy at the KA house -

An internet rumor finally comes true....

Wow what a cluster they have on their hands! Could happen to a better bunch.
Since it was "investigated" when it happened and no wrong doing was found. Sometimes the cover up is worse than the crime...and if this is true...the crime is pretty brutal.

Athletic Dept. Quote

Since it was "investigated" when it happened and no wrong doing was found. Sometimes the cover up is worse than the crime...and if this is true...the crime is pretty brutal.

Reached for comment, Ole Miss athletic department officials, who had already indefinitely suspended Denzel Nkemdiche after his arrest this week, said as follows:

“When this alleged incident occurred, the proper authorities investigated the matter and could find no evidence of wrong-doing related to Denzel and Robert Nkemdiche or any other members of our football program. This is a personal matter for them and we will support Denzel and Robert while they defend themselves in this civil case.”

Wait a minute. So this happened a year ago, Freeze and company did nothing (after their "investigation"), and now that it is public through the civil suit. Freeze suspends him now? Do I have this right? Laughable... what a great mentor that Freeze guy

So Ole Miss investigated and found NO WRONG DOING? Are you kidding me? How do these people sleep at night? If what they are accused of actually happened, these guys should not only be kicked off the team, they should be in jail.

I wonder if the kid will described his use of a racial slur right before getting his *** beat. Something tells me that will be left out.

Fights happened every weekend, but people got in a lot of trouble if anyone got really hurt. Kids were sometimes kicked out of school. The guy could choose to press charges. It all depends on how badly he was hurt.

I agree, this type of assault deserves jail time.

I hope they collect big time and the Keemdeechee brothers pay the ultimate cost. Can you imagine if this happened to you or a friend? Who wouldn't want these guys fully punished for a hospital visit worthy assault?

Ole Miss football is on the brink of collapse, it's going to be a pleasure watching it with all of you. It's to late to fix. You can't undo this cancer.

i remember in my early college days, i used to put people in the hospital on the regular. this is NOT a big deal at all...college is all about building relationships though violence and when possible, racism.

It's obviously

C34 and flab loser that did this, disguised as the brothers k.

ETA: I take that back. Those two hooligans went a step further. They dressed as KAs and snuck into the KA house. They then began shouting racial slurs at the players and FORCED the guys to beat them up. This was, of course, done right after they manipulated the statue. What a bunch of lowlifes.

Only in a silent TSUN theater can a racial slur fall to the ground without making a sound.

Its a huge lose/lose for om on the stereotype front

Its either a case of thug football players or racist fratboys.

Fresh DoDo , always smells

Does to me anyway.

The real problem for OM, is there seems to be a history of this going on...

And condoning it (or not dealing with it)could be a real issue for The Flagship...

so they say.

So say Penn St. U.

I think there is a lot yet to come out

As Clayton has said they wouldn't take this on if they didn't have everything they needed. They have been digging into this for quite awhile now

Wait Now, You have gone too far

Attorneys are paid Ho's, I've seen way too much of this.

Pay e'm and they will dance with the Devil.

Truth and right tend to be secondary, in most cases.

The reason, as I have read I'm not a law expert, that it took this long is the lawyers wanted to show a history of doctor/psychiatry visits to show true mental anguish and distress.

Man, much has changed since I was in school.

Fights happened every weekend, but people got in a lot of trouble if anyone got really hurt.

Do recall in the mid '80s a young Andy Kennedy, Louisville High School, Parade All-American, got his rear end handed to him at the Sig Ep house on a visit when he smarted off to the wrong person.

He didn't sue anyone but soon committed to NC State.

This is what I would be most worried about if I were a rebel fan.

Cross tried to to dismiss this case as vague on H2H today but they wouldn't have taken it if they thought they couldn't win it. It's not your Joe Schmoe ambulance chaser they went with.

Something odd about this, Clay Travis is the only media entity talking about it. Normally when a story breaks, Andy Staples, Pat Forde, Brett McMurphy, Bruce Feldman and others will retweet immediately. Not the case here as far as I can tell.

Just saw it on the ESPN crawler, albeit intended to distract the audience from the on-court beat-down.

I thought the same. One thing to think about is timing. If this were brought out this morning it would have blown up. Ill still be interested to see how the Memphis media handles this. All the major players in memphis are at the grizzlies game right now.

I think Travis just got the drop on them. It was only filed this past Friday, so no one outside of those filing the Complaint and the clerk's who processed it knew of it at the time. It was filed by a firm in Memphis and Travis still has a great deal of connections with the legal community, I know many lawyers in Memphis immediately email him any time they see something that might warrant posting on his site. So someone probably let him know and the rest are just trying to figure out what is going on.

I agree as it has been stated above. The thing that I find most interesting is the particular firm who filed this. Good sized firm with a great reputation and they don't do solely Plaintiff's work. They wouldn't take on a case like this, and incur the potential expenses associated with the litigation, unless they felt there was a reasonable chance to recover something.

Didn't know the game was on, but turned over when I saw your post. That's about the quietest place I've ever not heard ... you could hear a pin drop.

Don't the Bears wear home white like everybody else?
