Residents of San Diego care even less about football than residents in LA. So I guess in that respect it is a good move.

Yeah but did you see attendance at the Ram's games? It was horrible. And I saw they actually got better tv ratings in St. Louis than LA. So now they're putting two teams in there that no one will watch or see in person? What a joke. The NFL was unstoppable for years. Apparently they have decided to try and stop themselves.

Speaking only for myself, after spending five mornings a week in a NASCAR pack going 75 MPH for 30 minutes to get to work, then returning the same way home in 15-25 MPH traffic for an hour in the evening, it is pretty hard to get jazzed about dropping a C-note on Sunday to spend another four hours in traffic to watch marginal football. I had Rams season tickets for several years back when they played in Anaheim Stadium, but anymore the traffic is almost as bad on weekends as it is on weekdays. It boggles my mind that private investors are building a $2.6 billion stadium complex in the hood that football revenues will never cover in a state that is hemorrhaging the movie industry and businesses to Texas and elsewhere, and that so overtaxes people who actually pay taxes, we are all bailing as fast as we can. I'm moving to Nevada soon after I retire in a couple years.

They'll be playing in LA Galaxy's Stub Hub (formerly Home Depot) Center, which is a very nice soccer facility that holds a max of 30,000. I'm guessing that 30,000 number includes folks sitting on the hill as I thought it held 27,000 max. Can't wait to see football markings on the field when the LA Galaxy play! Winking

Wouldnt they play with the Rams in their ungodly expensive stadium? Cant see LA building TWO future empty stadiums for when LA gets bored with football again.

Per the LA TIMES: StubHub Center: It's the Galaxy's world, Chargers will just play in it

"Although the Chargers will call the StubHub Center home the next two seasons, Major League Soccer’s Galaxy will remain the stadium’s main tenant.

“The Galaxy is the main priority for StubHub Center,” said Brendan Hannan, the director of communication for the facility. “The Chargers’ NFL schedule will be built around the Galaxy schedule. The same will happen in terms of 2018.”"

Moving the Chargers to LA will double the value of the team over the next few years.
