Once we determine the going rate for these types of coaches, we need to bite the bullet and get close in regards to salary. I don't know if it is a good idea to low ball, them so to speak and then try to match when a big school comes calling, because they are going to come calling. I'm not saying make them the highest paid, but we should be close just to prevent any sort of resentment. About the only thing we can provide over the bigger schools is a sense of good will and more than doubling a coaches salary only after he is offered that by another school may not come across as good will.
