It’s interesting when so many are bashing the “rich” and blaming them for all our problems while others want a mere $40 million to help their teams win.

Ain't gonna happen. Warren spends too much of his money preventing overpopulation.
It isn't even about that in my opinion. Buffett isn't a fan of sports. Cuban is a jock sniffer from way back. He is like his brother in law Neil Hawkes, loves to hang out with the athletes, but was never really great at sports.

Find the guy that has made billions that loves sports, that went to Nebraska. Then we too can have a Mark Cuban

Cuban might win a natty to go with his NBA title. This, after selling his company for 500mil? 20 years ago? Some dudes just got it.
Well "his" company that he was smart enough to con the actual creators of the technology out of at a time anything internet was overvalued to an insane degree.
Still a smart guy, not taking that from him, but like Elon, he didn't create ****.

Off topic but it makes me sad whenever I hear Cuban's name. Apparently he wanted to buy my Pittsburgh Pirates off cheap a$$ Bob Nutting at one point but Nutting refused to even meet with him. I hate my sports life sometimes lol.

Yep. It's even worse than that actually. This was such the perfect storm and for anyone who doesn't realize what's really going on there, this can't be overstated enough. He's not just a billionaire jock sniffer. He's a billionaire jock sniffer who also happens to have just recently sold controlling interest in his professional sports team and has major fomo at a minimum and probably full blown seller's remorse if he's honest. So, he just bought himself another championship caliber team for a FRACTION of what a pro team would cost. Those alumni don't just grow on trees at every school.

Don't forget about the farmers with their hands out for the $12bil bailout. Seems both sides enjoy free money now.
I remember newt arguing the 350 billion debt was a problem to ole tax and spend tip 0neil..
before haliburton's 5 trillion wars, and 0bama's, 17 trillion cell phones
I do think Reagans 1 trillion Star Wars produced tangible results as far as patriots and such...

Didn't he get in trouble for some harassment stuff with the Mavs?

No, the Mavs organization did. He escaped it all pretty unscathed. It was a big dust up during the #metoo movement. Cuban claimed ignorance, cleaned out the bad actors who were still a little too Mad Men for the times, hired a prominent woman for a big position of power to fix their culture, and moved on.

I lived in Dallas during the rise of Mark Cuban. He loves the attention, can be alluring to a fan base, but ultimately it is all about the money.

What we are seeing In my opinion is a money grab into college athletics, establishment of a very profitable NFL ”Lite”, where the owners will not be the universities or state but private equity. For Cuban the money spent is chump change compared to NBA player salaries. He loves IU and a National Championship is worth a few million right now but at some point he and the other billionaires will want a financial return on investment.

Yeah, that is what I remembered.

So easy to tell who isn't intelligent. How many people are going to stress, lament, and ponder over a guy who is literally nearly dead? It was never going to happen and certainly won't now. Anyone pondering this knows nothing about Warren. He didn't become the greatest investor of all time by giving money to 19 year old football players. LOL The penny pinching and rational decision making IS what made Berk so great.

This is spot on. Just think about the return on investment all of the spending has gotten us Husker football fans so far. Jack ****. There's no world where Warren Buffett is gonna through his money away like that. He is an actual conservative.

Fernando Mendoza was an average transfer portal qb from a terrible team, their team hasn't lost a fumble in 1000 carries(I'm pretty sure Cignetti killed the last guy who fumbled, he never played again), they are a team filled with 3 stars and guys from James Madison, they play with physicality, and poise, and they play smart football. This ALL comes from coaching, coaches that have been together for more than a decade. It is just isn't reproducible in today's game and so people are "hoping" it comes from NIL. The team they just embarrassed was a pure NIL squad funded by Nike and it looked like they were a JV team. Just enjoy Indiana while it lasts and hope they destroy this idiotic version of college football somehow.
