Songs That Make You Change The Station

I'm sure everyone has a song or two (or more) that you absolutely hate. What is the one song that you instantly have to change the station when you hear it? For me right now it is Hello by Adele. As soon as she says hello I say goodbye and change it. It could be a good song, but I just can't get past the first word.

Since I let my kids have their turn at the XM occasionally, we have an understanding that any Selena Gomez song is immediate grounds for surrender of radio powers.

Nice to look at. Murder on the old earholes.

Bob Seger. Anything by him. It all infuriates me. Turn the Page is probably the worst because theskeezy, whiny *** is complaining about getting exactly what he wanted. He's just rubbing it in the face of every other musician who hears it. You want proof of how awful it is?... It was covered by Metallica, the second douchiest act in recorded history.

I turn the radio station with most everything that is not from the 40 or 50 greatest artist of Rock and Hard Rock. Same with country, if it is not from the greats I turn it.

Rock radio I hate hair bands. Poison is Celine Dion of Rock.

Bob seeger is garbage. He makes me run from the radio station. 80 % of pop songs now make me do that.

ANY GD Luke Bryan song that comes on, and not only do I change the channels, I yank the GD radio out of the car and hit a road sign with it.

I'm a metalhead (the dark side, not the mainstream glam ish), so I don't listen to much radio. But, I am married so I hear thisstuff in my wife's car and I must say I loathe all of the crappy modern country. Good country is fine with me.

If the "country" song has hip-hop drum tracks, autotuned vocals, some dude spitting a terrible Caucasian flow and 40 southern stereotypes packed into three and a half minutes, it's not country.

That "Buy Me a Boat" song is one of the stupidest I've heard in a while. It ranks up there with Honky Tonk Badonka Donk and She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy.

You must love Florida Georgia Line.

If ISIS gets anyone, I hope it's them.

I'm kidding...sort of.

Even my wife hates them., Every song of theirs I've heard sounded the same.

My wife does like that "you ain't in love with him, break up with him" song. I agree with you on that one. Awful.

Sweet Home Alabama
Mustang Sally
Old Time Rock and Roll.

But In particular ... Friends in Low Places.

I either played in a band or was the "sound guy" for years. They are all part of my 4K club.

Once you play or hear a song 4000 times it loses its luster.

One of the reasons I quit is because I NEVER in my life want to hear some drunk or bunch of drunks start yelling "play free bird" again....

Oh and all bro country.

Wow. A whole lot of stuff comes to mind:

Anything by Queen
Anything by Rush
Anything by Aerosmith
Anything pop-ish with a guy singing like a girl and electronic drums (pretty much all pop on the radio)
Bro country of every stripe - an abomination when compared to alt- or Texas country
Whatever metal it is that has no vocals just some speed-freak guy growling over a bunch of noise

Basically, I spend an inordinate amount of time scanning the radio for something listenable, even on XM. I generally end up on BB King's Bluesville, Little Stephen's Underground Garage, Deep Tracks, the Loft or comedy channels.

Time to add some R&B flavor to this list.

"We Are Family" Lots of family reunions held here. Every damn one of them plays this song.
"I Just Called to Say I Love You" The one Stevie Wonder song I despise.
Anything by Mariah Carey

I listen to Music Choice a lot. There is a song by Michael Jackson that makes me want to shoot my TV, Elvis style. "Ben". It's about a kid's friendship with a freaking rat, and the soundtrack title song for a forgettable horror film. I can't change the channel fast enough.

Why queen? Never heard that.
