I found it amazing that Dykes did not get any calls from every one of the SEC teams that had openings. The guy is clearly a good coach. I guess UT couldn't poach the same school's coach twice in a row, but I think a lot of teams missed on a good one here.

If i were a Kentucky fan, I would be pissed that my school hired a coordinator when they could possibly have had someone that has actually done it at the head coach level.

Seems that Kentucky approached Dykes but he wasn't interested in being considered.

Sounds like he already had his mind made up, or

He had excessive baggage of some type.(Does not interview well)

Hope he enjoys it out West.

I think Dykes lost a lot of appeal after everyone saw how bad his defense was this year. He would get destroyed in the SEC. He's going to the perfect conference for him. The only teams thay play any defense at all out there are Stanford and Southern Cal a little bit. He'll fit right in.

Fedora to Tennessee...Mullen to NC

Fedora would be crazy to leave NC. Look at this schedule. I'd take that any day over an SEC one.

He would be crazy to leave UNC. But I'm still mystified as to why he's supposedly a hot candidate. He lost to 3 bad teams (1 a blowout) and his best wins were against 7-5 NC State & Miami. I still don't understand what everyone sees in him as a coach.
