Caleb and Paul with 6 rebounds each was huge as well.
Young was driving into traffic with a high dribble far too often. And his play at the end of the first half was inexcusable.

We out rebounded them, fg % and 3 pt% was better than there’s, and more steals. But somehow reading the game thread we were out played and lazy. I just don’t get it. I love this team and just don’t understand the constant negativity.

it is funny because if you told me we out rebounded them I would have called you crazy. It felt like Minnesota got every rebound.I am assuming it felt that way because Minnesota had a couple more offensive rebounds which really hurt us so in peoples brains it seemed we were bad...

thank god pikiell isn’t as emotional as people on this board. How many loses would we have if the boards could run the team for one game.

Starting five did a real nice of working as a unit. JY sh*t the bed but that kid is responsible for RU winning games and will be a main contributor in winning games in the future. Agree that an uncontrolled JY needs to be on the bench or not on the court the same time with Mathis. In control JY can give us 10pts in the blink of an eye.

Like PM and Myles combo especially now that PM is not afraid to take an open shot. Caleb is a mental giant and as tough as they come. Like Geo at the point and makes us dangerous when his shot is going.

Four in a row boys and girls. Let’s keep this thing going.

The starting 5 works because they play aggressive defense and bring out a bigger lineup which helps us in rebounding.
bringing in Mathis and young they are looking for the run and gun offense at full throttle where they thrive. Challenge there is it’s less bodies for rebounding as we don’t have another dominant 4 helping in that area. It’s why I wouldn’t mind seeing Cliff and Myles in at the same time. We could really run with that type of team in the floor.

One thing I noticed about RHJ especially on FT's he kicks his elbow out to the right instead of pointing at the hoop. My daughter does the same thing. When she's on the move spots up perfect form elbow to the hoop. When she steps up and sets up the shot elbow kicks to right.
That would be something I would work to break it may help him get his consistency and arc back. You kick your elbow to the right you are pushing more than shooting

Yes I do watch that stuff it's the attention to the little details that makes the separation from average to greatness

We did play like crap and Pike coached like crap with his inane double teaming and substitutions. But McConnell’s o and d, Myles’ play and Geo clutch baskets nailed it
Disagree. The double teams down the stretch won the game. Without stops we lose. Before those Carr was getting to the basket and getting some gratuitous calls too. Stopping that was genius by Pike.

Believe he is pushing more.

I think his release point is still pretty far out in front of his body, too, which should make it easier to keep the elbow in.

Something just doesn't look right with him since he came back from injury and hit a few threes early against Iowa. The mid range game is fine but the outside shot is bad and it doesn't look like he's playing with the intensity we've known

At end of game maybe. Until then they kept finding someone in the middle and then under the basket

The thing with JY is he is maddening at times with completely out of control play, but my guess is if we have a Sweet Sixteen run in us we will need him to have a big first weekend game to get us there.
