I believe it completely..... I was in NO and watched us beat the **** out of UK.... Was also at the Meadowlands. We shot 68% in the first half and were freakin tied. Bullard threw more passes in the second row than he did our team. It was amazing.
In have never seen a worse game. Syracuse was not a good team and they did not beat us. We totally beat ourselves with unforced turnovers and could not hit crap.
holding a 16 year resentment over not winning a small office type NCAA tourney pool, HELL YESSSS! And that is a sure a sign of a real closet dork.
I may fall in that second category but at least I am not writing articles for a New York CBS website, instead I am writing one a site that probably gets more page views!
Guess there weren't message boards back then but how do people not remember all the talk about Bullard supposedly throwing that game? If you can go back and watch it, it is easy to believe.
I had never really heard of MSU prior to 1997 so I had not seen the game to my memory.
Did a quick youtube search for some clips, but I am guessing this is a different Marcus Bullard
Not a NSFW warning, just a dont watch unless you want to lose 5 minues and 30 seconds of your life that you will never get back! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZwlkwIb297Q
But several years later I talked to somebody on the team and he said Bullard actually just choked. Said there was no way Bullard would have taken a dive; said he cared so much about winning that he basically couldn't play. Could be a case of a guy just being loyal to a fault, but he seemed to feel very strongly that while Bullard didn't care enough about basketball to refrain from pistol whipping anybody, he apparently cared too much to take a bribe.
