is set to begin his grad work in sports administration. That sounds a whole hell of a lot more realistic than that park services bull **** Masoli pulled.

there are/were rumblings that maye was not happy with being switched from MLB to OLB.. I guess clemson was lacking speed on the outside and needed him there but maye felt in the middle was where he belonged... I don't know if it is totally being closer to home and the sports admin thing or just not getting along with the clemson coaches.... closer to home and the graduate program at State may have just been the icing on the cake for maye...

only an ole miss lawyer could find meaningful similarities between the two though... masoli was kicked off the team for crying out loud... and the graduate program part with masoli was a complete joke and maye's at least "on paper" is legit... masoli's graduate program at ole miss was a joke/excuse and everybody knew it..... maye's at least has legs...

but will this open up the floodgates for all kinds of transfers now?

maybe MSU should consider expanding the graduate programs....

I'm pretty sure he stopped going to class in December and hasn't set foot in a classroom since then.

He's a pretty good, d1-experienced player who even plays the position that y'all need numbers at the most.

I do think that it's humorous that the initial poster had to bring Masoli into the discussion. Robbie is right that Masoli was at our pro day, but he's not in school. I believe he said he's gonna head back to Cali to train, smoke weed, etc. I think it'll be interesting to see if Maye is still around for the spring semester; I'd say it's more likely than Masoli as Maye hasn't been kicked off teams or arrested as far as I know.

the fact he was 1st team Academic All ACC twice already. He makes good grades and trasnferred to a school with the graduate program he wanted. I know the playing time opportunity was pretty good for him at MSU, but I don't think he is coming here solely to play football. I think we wanted to go to a school that had available PT, but also had the degree program hewas looking for. At MSU, he has both, so it's not as big a deal for me. Not to mention he is a lot closer to home. This won't look anywhere close to assketchy as the Masoli stuff did because Maye has a lot of things in his favor for why he wanted to transfer here.

masoli. i imagine many schools who don't deperately need linebackers also have his degree. this may surprise you and of course i could be wrong but i'm unaware that msu's grad school of sports whatever is known nationally as THE PLACE to get that grad degree. personally i don't care. the ncaa opened the can of worms and the system is always going to get gamed. i'm sure some did but i don't know many ole miss people who really thought the masoli deal was anything other than a confluence of need. just don't embarrass yourself by claiming this is. its legal, it helps the kid and the school, screw the ncaa and screw anybody who doesn't like it. if its a problem the change the 17ing rule.

as far as his wanting the degree....someday when masoli is a park ranger at yellowstone, i'm going to come back here and raz you about it..............just sayin.

but wasn't Masoli kicked off the oregon team and then decided to be a park ranger, vs maye pursuing a grad degree elsewhere without being charged with a felony and kicked off the clemson team?

apples and oranges reb1, even if both of them had a primary motive of playing ball.
