Hint Visor Boy, Vandy could only run 24 seconds off the clock on the first down play, they could run 40 seconds off the clock on all other plays.

at the beginning of Vandy's last possession. After they got a first down, they brought 7, and then 8. I thought that was strange.

I thought that was a big mistake on Spurrier's part. Granted, his offense didn't help him out by putting them in a 4th and 18 or something like that, making it a next to impossible conversion. However, I was still thinking that you go for it, especially with the ball on the Vandy side of the field. You punt to conserve field position. With 2:35 left, field position doesn't mean nearly as much. It's more a matter of having the ball vs. not having the ball.
