Sounds like Notre Dame will get more special treatment going

forward - anyone else sick of it? I was feeling a tad sorry for them(not really) but now very glad they didn’t get in. Why does NCAA continue to kiss their backside instead of telling them they need to join a conference & have no guarantees like every other team?

What's the additional special treatment? Or is it just the clause where they get an auto invite if they are ranked in the top 12?

I consider not being required to belong to a conference for equal consideration under the new playoff system special treatment. A conference champion should be able to bump them from the playoff brackets if they have the same record, regardless of poll rankings.

I hope ADs stick to their guns about not scheduling ND because of their special treatment.
You sound jealous or just a typical complainer. Just leave them alone and let the field performance settle it. They didn’t make it this year and probably shouldn’t have. I think they were pissed at how they were ranked higher until the end. If SC were in the same situation you would’ve felt the same way. If they’re in the top 12 they should make it in, so why complain about a special deal. Regarding a conference, why does it matter to you? Let them do what they want. Would you rather have ND’s TV deal or the share you get in the SEC? Easy choice if you’re a top 10-15 team, which as long as they have good coaches and recruits they should be. SoCal dropped them because they (mainly head coach) were concerned about a loss late in the season. Happy holidays from the golden dome (actually a USC grad)

Not a good argument when you point out how they have special treatment, but simply argue we shouldn't care.

Not an argument to me. Anyone in top 12 ranking should be there regardless, and yes, you shouldn’t care. Worry about SC. If both make it to CFP next year let it be settled on the field. If anyone is #13 or below then they stay home. Just because they’re an independent big deal. At least the conference ADs didn’t think it was a big deal since they agreed to it. Time to move on people.

Again, just telling us to ignore the special treatment doesn't count for much. Of course an ND fan doesnt want people talking about how ND gets special treatment.

We'll go ahead and keep discussing though.

We have...... and they ain't won jack squat in nearly 40 years.

Noodle Lame is a joke. Not relevant to *REAL* college football. Worlds tallest midget with a massive, MASSIVE ego complex, unique to all A-holes. They think they are special.....they're not. People are sick of it.

I agree. Would LOVE to see the P5 conferences drop them. Let them be truly independent.

They’re special; you just don’t realize it

Why doesn't Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, Texas or USC get the same special treatment? They are all historically top tier brands in college football. No single team should get any more consideration for being in the playoff than the other 135. What's next, ND gets 5 downs each possession since their success is so important to so many people or maybe ND field goals are worth 4 points?

I don't care if ND joins a conference or not but they don't deserve special consideration for playoff eligibility any more than any other team does. I also think the CFP should stipulate that ND has to play a 13 game season consisting of at least 10 P4 teams if they do not join a conference so they don't get the benefit of not having to play in a conference championship game and the ability to schedule multiple G5 and FCS teams.

If South Carolina decided to revert to being an independent, do you think the CFP would give them the same special consideration? I didn't think so.

Disney put a rule into their invitational tournament eligibility guidelines that favors one team over all others. The ADs didn't have much of a say in it.

Oh, they're "special".

Still hope the P4 AD's drop them. It would be very funny.
It would be fitting and correct.

Although I like Piscis take on it the best. Let them remain independent, but put it in the rules of the CFB playoff that they must play a 13 game schedule, with at least 10 actual "real" teams...... no cupcakes like they love to fill up on. - If those rules came to pass, Noodle Lame would be irrelevant for another 40 years. They are a joke. Everyone knows it except for the media Hoe's and the Golden Lamers themselves. Worst case of no self awareness EVER.

Remember the website "fireRonZook dot com?"

Someone should start a national "WeHateNotreDameFanclub dot com" website.

It would be the next facebook, it would grow so fast.
