I know I have posted this several times, but I again talked to my sources yesterday, and the results were again depressing. Croom will not make any staff changes as far as personnel. But, we will be researching and working on implementing "spread technique" during the spring and fall. Again, DAMN IT BRYNE!!!

May or may not be true, but they are very close to the situation. I have been hearing this for three weeks, and each time I ask ,"What is going to happen", there response is the same, the pressure that most fans think is on Croom to make staff changes is not there from the higher ups. Regarless of what you or me think Croom is a very powerful man inside the Bryan building.
I like Bryne, and I think he will do a good job for our university, but due to the economic situation, he will not ask for the money to buy Croom out this year, Croom knows this, so there really isn't any pressure to apply to Croom.

I'll not contribute a damn nickle to the bulldog club next year. I know that won't make any difference in the whole scheme of things, but it will make me feel better. Surely Greg has got to know many feel the same way as we do.

thus allowing him to stay. If he`s told to change some coaches and does and still fails then it`s no longer his fault it`s the people who forced the change. Maybe they`ll just bust his *** and not give him an easy excuse to fail more without being held accountable. Memo : I understand this probably wishful thinking.

Close to the situation: People who know what the hell is going on.

Let me say that I am no fan of Croom not McCorvey, and I think it would be better for MSU football if both were to leave Starkville Next Sat, but it don't see that happening. Its going to be a tough sell next year, maybe someone will pony up once the scull dragging occurs Friday.

I don't have any sources "close to the situation" like some claim to have, but I have the same assessment of the situation as you. If Byrne has one grain of sense - and I think he does - there is no way he is going to dictate things to Croom like staff changes, scheme changes, etc. If he did, he would at least be morally bound to give those changes time (another one to two years?) to work and he would bear the responsibility for how they turned out. It is Croom's responsibility to make those types of decisions to assure success for this football program; that's what the $1.7 million per year is for. It is clear to me that Croom does not have all the tools necessary to be a successful head coach and to drag this situation out any further would be a mistake. But, to fire Croom immediately, just to get rid of Croom, without the very best replacement possible committed to come here would be just as big, if not a bigger, a mistake. In either case, several more years of disaster would likely result. My hope is that Byrne is now working on a quality replacement for Croom and he will pull the plug as soon as the deal is sealed.

Shouldn't we have implemented the "spread technique" this year? ****, we couldn't move the ball against Ole Miss, CUSA power UCF, or our first string D for christ sakes. How many more clues does this jackass need to learn that his ****** offense doesn't work. I guess we need to get on the fire Byrne campaign because it looks like the nutless Wonder Boy isn't going to do jack ****.

I find it VERY hard to believe that the "higher ups" would sit here and watch their money continue to be pissed away while the other school is being successful. It makes NO sense.

Sounds like the whole Bobby Louder courting Bobby Petrino behind Tubberville's back disaster. Doubt this will happen.

but I don't know what else you do. No manager in his right mind is going to fire a person in a position like Croom's without at least first putting out feelers to see who is available and interested as a replacement. Some of the larger programs may be in a position to fire and then start a search with fairly good assurance of landing a quality replacement, but I don't think we are. Further, I doubt they really do either.

I think this info is a year behind. Next thing your source tells you is that the staff will visit several schools to get ideas of how they move the ball on offense.

I heard Byrne say that he woudl not evaluate any personnel decisions until after the end of the season. We are still in the middle of the season and so is everyone else. I doubt anything would get done until after the season is over so sit back watch us get killed by Ole Miss and then the decision process will come through and we will see what is going to happen.

this is Croom's baby.

Just like our ****** offenses under Sherill weren't the fault of Bruce Arians, who is doing just fine thanks as an NFL coordinator.

Woody is a convenient scapegoat.

at the bastketball game Saturday. I was lucky enough to know somebody with floor seats and sat down there all game. GB came by during halftime or a time out and met everybody sitting on that row. Im in college so it was more special for me than it was for some of the "Big Dawgs".

The man sat and talked to me and my buddies for a few minutes. Not because he had to or because he thought it would look good, but because he wanted to. He let us know that if there were any questions or concerns we as students had, to e mail or set up an appointment and they would be addressed immediately. Now I know this is the normal, jibber japper from people in charge and it might not amount to much. But the convo we had with him made me realize just how sharp this guy is. "Hey Mr. Byrne, what are your thoughts on Croom", was about to bust out of my mouth the entire time. However, I apparently did not drink enough whiskey at the game and pussed out.

If I was that scared to ask him that at the game when he was just chatting with us, then I could not imagine how hard it would be for other people to bring this up to him. Im sure he knows how terrible Croom is but the change that we all want might not come unless many many people (who matter) step up and do something about it.

the older you get, you will learn that you might as well say what you need to say......the earlier you discover this, the better you younger years will become

is kept intact. The old saying about giving someone enough rope may be applicable. If they don't win at least 7 next year...all doubt should be removed about his competence or incompetence...whatever. If he were to make a major change, it may only give him more time...and more money. He would then have an excuse for yet another year to put a new "system" in...the emperor has no clothes but nobody can see it.

when I really just needed to keep my mouth shut. I was sitting by some big money people whom I did not really know and I had no clue how they would react to me saying something like that. Plus, the seats had nothing to do with me. Trust me, it was sitting in the tip of my tongue the entire time.
