Karnowski is something! He is not really athletic, but he knows how to move, pass and make shots.

Wasn't Karnowski fouled when that Carolina guy raked his eyes?

They said it was a clean block so the finger rake was not considered.

No, Kellogg didn't say that. He said, "The block was clean but the extension afterward caught him across the face and eye."

He got poked in the eye on the follow-through of a blocked shot. Probably should have been a foul, but the refs missed it. It's not like they held him down and did a WWE eye-gouge on him.

Ok. Thought since he blocked it clean they didn't call the foul. In real time I didn't see a block and thought it was a foul. Unfortunate.

To make it up to him, the officiating crew has suspended the 3-second and moving screen rules for the rest of the night - or so it would seem.

Gonzaga is fouling too much. No easy baskets for Carolina, but still those fouls add up. Will hurt in the stretch.

Eh, Thornwell doesn't look good at all. Whether its the flu or Final Four nerves or some combination, he's been kind of a non-factor. so unless someone else from South Carolina catches fire, the Zags will advance. I don't think the Cocks don't have enough firepower unless Thornwell is going strong.

Do the Gamecocks have a run in them? They can't just trade baskets.

Well, maybe that three will get Thornwell going. Good move by Martin to break out the full-court pressure now instead of waiting until it's too late - the way a lot of coaches do.

I should have given up on the Gamecocks' chances sooner. The minute I did that - they rallied!

But extending the defense really seemed to energize them. Like I said, great move by Martin to play that card at the right time.

Agreed. Gonzaga should have called time out earlier and countered.

Whatever was in Gonzaga's head is clearly out and they are back playing their game. Carolina is going to have to get some stops to make this a game again.

Good Lord - is there a rule that even the most obvious review has to take 5 minutes?

Great rally by South Carolina to make it a game, but their last few possessions were not good. Zags play great defense but the Cocks' veteran players needed to step up and hit a shot, and they sort of went deer-in-the-headlights.

The refs have been awful throughout the tournament and in the Zags game they weren't any better. First if a guard would have been hit the face that hard it would have been a foul, but since Karnowski is a huge guy no call. Collins clearly got fouled on an inside move, SC's Silvia chopped both arms and no call. The 4th call on Karnowski, he had his arms straight up on a defensive foul and Collins' 4th foul, an offensive foul, no contact, are just another example of the zebras effecting the game and keeping it close. Then the ref take way too long to decide who last touched the ball on a out-of-bounds play when it was clearly off Zags Goss-Williams. The crew in the Duck vs NC game took too long on another obvious out-of-bounds play as well. Are there any good officials left?

If Zags fans think they got hosed last night, you might not even want to watch the championship game.

You predicted the future perfectly. I went down yesterday, Sunday, to ski in Central Oregon this morning. (Long trip for crunchy snow on a volcano, but what the heck it was skiing and it was sunny). Heck the Duck fans were pretty cordial to me last night at dinner even though I was sporting a Husker cap. Listened to the first half on the radio this evening on my drive home. Watched the second half at home. The zebras made sure the Zag's "Bigs" were taken care of. Completely neutralized the big guys. The Zags couldn't hit the barn door much less make a basket so they didn't help themselves either.

Should we all chip in for a security system for D P-E and his roommates?

Will N Mex take Miles?
