Looking at the insight, well that’s part of the problem. The insight posters aren’t saying anything or even checking in anymore most likely. All the post are in this thing now is who might win and who is playing. In 07’ the NL Lincolnton game post made 4 or 5 pages. People are not getting on here like they use to. Could be a new prep site going around, a coworker showed me the site other day but I can’t remember what it was. Kinda like when MySpace was dying and FB pretty much took full control, maybe that’s the thing happening now. I hope not cause I really enjoy this one.
Newton, Maiden Lincolnton and Bandys are 4 schools that have had great success and usually have strong athletic talent and so much so that any of them could beat the other on any given Friday night if the playcalling is right. Equally matched so to speak. West, North and sometimes East were the less athletic underdogs all in years past (except that run East had for several years once they were 2A) North and West will prob fall back to the usual here in a couple years or 3 perhaps.
A strong class will come about at North and West here and there then you have your long droughts afterwards. Didn’t help North any being 3A when they was either. I figure after Price, Ty Williams, Sorros, and a couple others graduate, Bazzel may retire not long after or move on then they’ll be 3A again getting whooped. I hope not but history shows it kinda happens with them.
Even though I pull for North, I’d really like to see West get a first round home game n playoff win. If they win out an chances are they possibly can they may get that high seed and get a home game m win off some team that barely gets in. I hope Pisgah loses a couple so none of the SF will have to go up there again. With them, Hibriten and Burns in the mix it’s gonna be super tight on who gets a home game first round.
You ask if North was beatable. Given they lost to Parkwood and had to come from behind to beat West I’d say yeah. I’d LOVE to see them or West face Hibriten this year.
