What's happened to Porter Ridge?

Wish I could tell you. I thought going into the season they were the #2 team in that conference but they have fallen apart. I saw them in a preseason scrimmage and they looked pretty good. Not a lot of depth for a 4A team but plenty of size and a good QB.

They don't have a lot of seniors this year, only had 4 returning starters at the start of the season. Good thing for them is next year a lot of these same guys will be back with experience.

INDIAN TRAIL, N.C. — The Porter Ridge High School football team will be without rising senior quarterback Jared Lockhart after he transferred to Myers Park High School in Charlotte. The 6-foot-4-inch, 175-pound quarterback started all 12 games for the Porter Ridge Pirates during the 2023 season.

Yes, but QB play isn't their big issue this season, it's more so numbers/depth/youth. Jared is a very good player though.
